Changes in production and trading of agricultural materials

In recent years, the inspection and supervision of agricultural material production and trading has had positive changes in Lam Dong. Most enterprises and business households fully comply with business conditions, product labeling, and product origin; farmers use agricultural materials with reputable brands and quality, contributing to increasing the value of harvested agricultural products and limiting environmental pollution.

The number of agricultural material production and trading establishments is growing in Lam Dong.

From 2016 to present, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has organized 4 conferences on management of production and trading of plant varieties, fertilizers, pesticides and strengthened the enforcement of decrees on administrative sanctions for violations in the fields of cultivation and plant quarantine in the area.

In addition, 2 training courses on agricultural material management were organized for 45 specialized officers; 162 training courses on new legal documents for 17,671 agricultural material traders; 83 training courses on fertilizers and pesticides with 7,334 participants; 2 training courses on safety in transporting pesticides for 63 participants.

At the same time, through annual specialized inspection coordination activities, departments, branches, localities and relevant units in the province proactively implement decrees on administrative sanctions for violations in the fields of cultivation, plant protection and plant quarantine, and promptly handle violations of the law.

Thereby, raising awareness of organizations and individuals in complying with legal regulations on production and trading of agricultural materials, committing not to produce and trade in poor quality plant varieties, fertilizers and pesticides, and counterfeit goods that affect the agricultural product brand of Lam Dong province.

Combining propaganda work with inspection and examination work, from 2016 to 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province organized 4 inspection teams on law enforcement in the field of cultivation, protection and quarantine of plants in the area. In particular, before implementing the 2-level local government, it inspected and issued 779 decisions to fine more than 4.2 billion VND to 779 organizations and individuals violating in this field.

Notably, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province has transferred 3 files to the investigation agency, prosecuting criminal responsibility for the act of producing and trading fake and poor quality fertilizers. Common violations detected and handled include: Temporarily revoking the right to use certificates of eligibility for production, import, trade, and organization of fertilizer testing; forcing the recall and destruction of fertilizer products, pesticides, and plant varieties that violate production and trading.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong, the implementation of decrees on administrative sanctions for violations in the fields of cultivation, plant protection and plant quarantine in Lam Dong province from 2016 to present has been coordinated by departments, branches and local authorities to strengthen propaganda and inspection to promptly detect and handle violations, contributing to protecting the rights of producers, traders and farmers...

It is forecasted that the number of establishments producing and trading agricultural materials will continue to grow in the coming time, operating in a wide range of areas, in which fertilizer and pesticide products are increasingly diverse, requiring increasingly high professional expertise. The Department of Agriculture and Environment proposed that the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection ( Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ) further strengthen training and professional development in state management of crop production and plant protection for specialized staff in Lam Dong province.
