On the afternoon of November 23, the City Youth Union and the Hanoi City Children's Council organized a program to honor "Filial Children" within the framework of the 2024 Festival of the same name.

In its first edition, the Festival received positive feedback from the community and society. The honored role models received attention and support from agencies and organizations to have a better life.

This year, at the Festival, the Organizing Committee honored 68 "Filial Children". These are all young people in the capital who are exemplary in filial piety, good lifestyle, responsibility, and have an influence on the community and society.

Performances at the Festival.

Among them, we can mention Le Ha Minh Anh, a student of class 3A7 (Phu Dien Primary School, Bac Tu Liem District). His daughter has leukemia, Minh Anh's father had to temporarily stop working to take care of his daughter at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion. All the economic burden of the family fell on the shoulders of the girl's mother.

Stories about the filial piety and efforts to overcome difficulties of the delegates made many people present at the Festival unable to hold back their tears.

Although her family is in difficult circumstances and she has to spend most of her time in the hospital, Le Ha Minh Anh still tries her best to study online and in person between treatments. Not only that, Minh Anh has also won many awards such as "Hoa trang nguyen" and top positions in international math and English competitions.

As usual, Minh Anh participated in the Festival with the support of her father who has accompanied her for many years. Sharing with the Festival delegates, the girl born in 2016 confidently said: "I will recover quickly to continue going to school."

Vice Chairman of the Central Council of Young Pioneers Le Hai Long and Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union Chu Hong Minh awarded Certificates of Merit to the "Filial Children" of 2024.

It is known that each delegate of the Festival received a Certificate of Merit from the Hanoi Youth Union, 3 million VND in cash and many other valuable gifts. Before the commendation ceremony, the delegates of the 2nd "Filial Son" Festival reported their achievements to Uncle Ho at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, participated in many traditional education activities, meaningful experiences and exchanges.

Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairman of the Hanoi City Young Pioneer Council Dao Duc Viet spoke at the Festival.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairman of the Hanoi City Youth Union Council Dao Duc Viet, shared: "The organizing committee was extremely moved when receiving nomination documents from the affiliated Youth Union and Young Pioneer organizations as well as related social organizations. Reading the handwritten letters that the delegates wrote about their personal circumstances and dreams, I could not help but feel sad and especially admire the will and efforts of you, the children. Indeed, in the middle of a barren and rocky land, wildflowers still grow and bloom beautiful clusters of flowers."
