Who remembers Alexis Sanchez?

In the 2024/25 season, Sanchez did not score or assist in 14 appearances for Udinese. He suffered a calf injury at the beginning of last season and took a long time to recover. After returning to the field, Sanchez was not at his best.

However, Sanchez answered all doubts at Sevilla. Sevilla coach Matias Almeyda even praised the veteran Chilean striker, after his impressive contributions to the team in recent times.

Sanchez could not regain his form at Udinese.

"Alexis is the embodiment of football, the joy. He doesn't spend all day on his phone. Alexis talks about football, about situations, about players. I'm very grateful that he joined Sevilla," said coach Almeyda.

Almeyda was particularly impressed with Sanchez's footballing mind: "He is one of the shortest players but still wins aerial duels. Alexis is not the fastest but always surpasses opponents with speed. Even when surrounded, he still keeps the ball. I can only thank him for that intelligence."

These qualities help Sanchez, who will turn 37 in December, remain an important factor in Sevilla's La Liga squad in the 2025/26 season.

El Pais newspaper believes that with what he has shown, Sanchez will inspire Sevilla to build solidarity and a desire to win in a season that promises to be full of difficulties.
