"What's more beautiful" attracts attention, Gen Z musician reveals the song's lyrics

(Dan Tri) - "What could be more beautiful" is a song that is going viral on many social networking platforms, and is compared by many to "Continuing the story of peace" by musician Nguyen Van Chung.

In recent days, on social networking platforms, the song What's More Beautiful - a work inspired by the movie Red Rain - by author Nguyen Hung (born 1999) has become a hit when many people shared and paid attention to it.

In particular, the 45-second remix of What's More Beautiful , was remixed by TikTok users into a vibrant electronic music track, chosen by many young people as background music, used in clips with patriotic content.

At the end of July, right after its release, the song Con gi dep hon by Nguyen Hung entered the Top 10 of Zing MP3's New Music Chart. The lyric video on Youtube released 2 weeks ago reached 2.3 million views.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter , musician Nguyen Hung said that he is also one of the young actors participating in the movie Red Rain by director Dang Thai Huyen.

"I went to a casting for the role of Hai and was chosen for the movie Red Rain . I wrote the song What's More Beautiful than this in two stages: When I received the script, I wrote 50% of the music and stopped. After finishing filming the movie, I completed the remaining 50% of the work," said Nguyen Hung.

The Gen Z musician (the generation born from around 1995 to 2015) added that it took him about 2 days to write the chorus that went viral on social media: "If the war is over and I haven't come home yet, mom, be happy, you have a heroic son, who has spent his youth sowing freedom for the country. To me, there is nothing more beautiful than that."

Nguyen Hung admitted that when he was in school, he only studied Literature at an average level, but when composing songs, the emotions from the work gave him meaningful and touching lyrics.

"The song's release date is also very close to the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the sacred and meaningful National Day September 2, so I think the song will be used a lot, but instead of being surprised, I'm happy because the song has touched the audience's emotions...", Nguyen Hung said.

Nguyen Hung also mentioned his colleague, music producer Tung Giang, and said that Tung Giang's arrangement made the song " What's more beautiful " a complete work, spreading to the audience.

Sharing about the song "What's more beautiful" by Nguyen Hung, director Dang Thai Huyen said she was moved when listening to the work. She remembers the first melodies of this song when Nguyen Hung was just in the stage of "breaking" the script and practicing with his co-stars.

"A very clear image appeared in my mind: One day, Hung and Squad 1 would put their arms around each other and sing that song together on the stage introducing Red Rain . And that wish came true.

We don't know what the future holds for Red Rain , or how much the audience will love it. But for me, this is a film that has a great "fate" with music," Dang Thai Huyen confided.

Before taking on the role of Hai in the project Red Rain , Nguyen Hung was known as a singer in the band MAYDAYS, owner of the song Miracle and a prominent face in the short film Wooden Fish - the work that won the Outstanding Short Film award at the 2024 Kite Award.

The song Miracle is also a special case as it is a movie song by Dan Ca Go , but became famous before the movie was widely released, performed by many famous singers such as: Xuong Ca group (Bui Cong Nam, Thanh Duy, Thien Minh, Duy Khanh), ST Son Thach...

The popularity of Miracle had a ripple effect when the film was released in theaters.

Red Rain is a feature film about the revolutionary war with a script by writer Chu Lai. The film is inspired and fictionalized from the 81-day and night event in 1972 when the people, cadres and soldiers fought bravely and steadfastly to protect Quang Tri Citadel.

Those 81 days and nights have become a legend, a historical milestone demonstrating our people's aspiration for unification in the resistance war against America to save the country.

The movie is scheduled to be released on August 22.
