Specifically, an account posted information: "There was a white car in Hoa Quy that kidnapped Mr. Thanh Tuan Tran's child but managed to escape quickly. Everyone be careful with small children, do not let them ride bicycles, kidnapping...".

Another account also reminded everyone to be careful and mentioned an incident that happened near an elementary school. The child had just come home from school and said that two uncles called him back, but he had been warned in advance so he did not listen. This account also wrote: "My brothers and sisters, please be careful when picking up and dropping off your child. I probably won't dare let my child ride a bike tomorrow."

This information was shared by many people and spread rapidly on social networks, causing public confusion.

During the verification, the police determined that no incidents as mentioned in the article occurred.

At the police station, HVT and PTC confessed that on February 11, while surfing Facebook, they saw the above information and posted it on their personal pages without checking the accuracy of the source.

At the same time, he admitted that sharing false information affected local security and order, so he removed the offending post.

The Internal Political Security Department is consolidating records to strictly handle those who posted false information about the above child kidnapping.
