Ho Chi Minh City police discovered and seized nearly 1 ton of drugs

Today (September 28), Ho Chi Minh City Police informed about the results of investigation and discovery of drug-related cases in the first 9 months of the year.

Accordingly, since the beginning of the year, the city police force has discovered and solved 2,430 cases, arresting 6,137 subjects for drug law violations. This number increased by 754 cases, equivalent to 44.99%, compared to the same period last year.

Through that, the police seized more than 980kg of various drugs along with many guns, bullets and related tools and vehicles.

The two-level Investigation Police Agency under the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department has prosecuted 2,076 cases with 4,023 defendants.

Some typical cases such as in mid-July, the Drug Crime Investigation Department coordinated with Cu Chi District Police, Drug Crime Investigation Department ( Ministry of Public Security )... to destroy and arrest the entire drug trafficking and trafficking ring from Cambodia to Ho Chi Minh City. The authorities prosecuted 6 suspects, seized 15.5 kg of various synthetic drugs and 1 military gun.

Or, from the incident of using guns to cause public disorder that occurred in District 6 on August 30, just 5 days after receiving the information, local police expanded the investigation, dismantled the illegal drug trafficking ring and prosecuted 11 defendants for the crimes of "Disturbing public order", "Illegal possession and use of military weapons", "Illegal purchase and possession of drugs".

Recently, in early September, Tan Phu District Police, together with the Drug Crime Investigation Department (Ho Chi Minh City Police) and the Drug Crime Investigation Department (Ministry of Public Security) and related units and localities arrested a group of subjects transporting, storing, and illegally trading drugs. In this case, the authorities seized more than 19 kg of various synthetic drugs and 40 packages of "happy water" drugs.

In mid-September, District 8 Police in coordination with other units discovered a case, successfully destroying a drug trafficking ring from Cambodia to Ho Chi Minh City and many other localities for consumption. The amount of evidence seized was up to 20kg of methamphetamine, 10kg of ketamine, 42 heroin bars. 14 subjects were arrested.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City Police are simultaneously expanding their investigation into many large-scale drug rings, hunting down related subjects for handling.
