Delegates of the Provincial People's Council and Dong Ha City People's Council met with voters in Dong Giang and Dong Thanh wards.

This afternoon, November 14, Dong Ha City Party Secretary Le Quang Chien and delegates of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Council and Dong Ha City People's Council met with voters before the final session of 2024 in Dong Thanh and Dong Giang wards, Dong Ha City.

At the meetings, voters of the wards listened to the reports of the 27th session of the Provincial People's Council and the Dong Ha City People's Council from the delegates of the 8th Provincial People's Council; the 20th session of the 12th Dong Ha City People's Council; the socio-economic situation, national defense and security in 2024; the expected program and content of the regular meeting at the end of 2024 of the Provincial People's Council and the Dong Ha City People's Council. At the same time, they listened to information on the results of handling voters' opinions and recommendations at previous voter meetings.

Voters of Dong Thanh ward reported that more than 2 years ago, when expanding the urban area to the North, the city had a policy of rewarding families who handed over their land within 10 days of receiving compensation (for every 100 million VND in compensation, an additional 7 million VND would be awarded). Many households quickly relocated their assets and handed over their land to the contractor to implement the project on schedule, but until now they have not received the above bonus. During the construction of Le Thanh Tong street, the construction unit caused cracks in 15 houses along both sides of the street, but until now they have not received compensation or damage repair support. They requested the competent authorities to promptly consider and compensate the people.

The completion of the Hieu River cable-stayed bridge has contributed to beautifying the urban appearance of Dong Ha. However, the road connecting the foot of the bridge with Hoang Dieu Street (north of Hieu River) has not yet been completed. It is recommended to invest in completing the infrastructure system soon so that people can feel secure in their production and living.

At the intersection of Nguyen Van Linh and Nguyen Van Troi streets, in Ward 2, there is a hard median strip that causes traffic insecurity. Therefore, it is recommended that competent authorities study and handle this to ensure safety.

Voters of Dong Giang ward proposed that there should be a solution to avoid local flooding in Alley 35 and the residential area of ​​many households on the west side of Thanh Nien Street due to the impact of the North Hieu River Urban Area project; it is necessary to speed up the site clearance and compensation payment for households affected by the concentrated flower pot project phase 2.

Many voters are concerned that when the Tran Nguyen Han road crossing Nguyen Tuan street is completed, it will cause flooding on Nguyen Tuan street, because the roadbed of Tran Nguyen Han street is higher, so they request the construction unit to study and design a reasonable drainage system.

Voters believe that the compensation for ornamental trees that must be relocated to serve construction projects is still low; there is a lack of uniforms for security forces at the grassroots level; it is necessary to develop an investment project to build and upgrade community cultural houses in the neighborhood to meet the prescribed standards.

Leaders of Dong Ha City, Dong Thanh and Dong Giang wards received and explained voters' recommendations according to their authority.

For issues reflected by voters that are under the jurisdiction of higher levels, the delegates of the Provincial People's Council and the Dong Ha City People's Council will record, synthesize and study them and transfer them to the relevant authorities for timely consideration and resolution.
