The first working day of the 1st An Giang Provincial Party Congress

On the afternoon of October 2, at the An Giang Provincial Cultural and Arts Center, the 1st Congress of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, held a preparatory meeting. This is the most important political event of the year, attracting the attention of many cadres, party members and people in the province.

The congress was attended by 448 official delegates representing more than 131,000 party members appointed from 107 party committees under the Provincial Party Committee.

Party Central Committee member, Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai said that, implementing Directive No. 45-CT/TW dated April 14, 2025 of the Politburo and the Central's regulations on Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress, with the consent of the Politburo, the An Giang Provincial Party Committee convened the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030 on October 2-3.

An Giang Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai affirmed that all contents of the preparatory session are closely related to each other and are important; doing well the contents of the preparatory session is the basis and condition contributing to the success of the 1st Provincial Party Congress.

Comrade Nguyen Tien Hai asked delegates to uphold their sense of responsibility, promote democracy, and fulfill their responsibilities at the congress.

With the motto "One An Giang - One vision - One will - One belief in victory", the 1st Provincial Party Congress has the theme: "Building a clean and strong Party and political system; promoting the tradition of solidarity; strengthening national defense, security, and foreign affairs; developing science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation; mobilizing all resources to build An Giang province to develop rapidly and sustainably, entering a new era with the country".

Delegates voted to approve the working regulations and rules of the Congress.

On the first working day, the delegates elected the Congress Presidium consisting of 16 comrades; elected the Congress Secretariat consisting of 3 comrades; elected the Delegate Qualification Examination Committee consisting of 3 comrades; approved the working regulations and internal rules of the Congress; divided into 12 discussion groups around the Documents of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

In the afternoon of the same day, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province called on civil servants and public employees to contribute one day's salary to support people affected by the recent storm No. 10. At the preparatory session, Central guest delegates and delegates attending the congress voluntarily contributed to support people affected by natural disasters.

Previously, the Exhibition on socio-economic achievements in the 2021-2025 period and development orientation to 2030 opened.

The exhibition is designed with two display spaces with consistent meaning, including: Space for the 2021-2025 period with the theme "An Giang - One vision, One will, One belief in victory", vividly recreating the province's outstanding efforts and development milestones.

The space for the 2026-2030 period with the theme "Developing science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation", demonstrates the strategic vision and aspiration for breakthroughs in the coming period.

The event is not only an opportunity to review the development journey of the province, but also affirms the aspiration to rise, the will to innovate and the strategic vision for the new period.

Tomorrow, October 3, the official session of the 1st An Giang Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, will take place.
