Talks between actors and Hollywood studios over the current strike have broken down, as the two sides clash over streaming revenue, the use of artificial intelligence and a host of issues that have arisen during the work stoppage.
According to The Guardian, since last week, the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) - the negotiating party for Hollywood studios such as Walt Disney and Netflix - has been regularly meeting and discussing the strike issue with the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) - representing actors who participated in the strike wave in July.
Earlier, on October 9, Hollywood screenwriters reached a new agreement with studios, ending one of the longest strikes in the industry. However, even if screenwriters return to work, most film and television production will remain suspended until SAG-AFTRA's demands are resolved.
