Proposal to discipline former Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The

(Dan Tri) - Former Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The and many individuals were identified as responsible for violations at the Ministry of Transport , including the implementation of bidding packages of Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company.

The violations of former Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The and related individuals were concluded by the Central Inspection Committee at the 50th meeting recently held, chaired by Chairman Tran Cam Tu. The Central Inspection Committee determined that the Party Executive Committee of the Ministry of Transport for the 2021-2026 term violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations; lacked responsibility, and loosened leadership and direction, allowing the Ministry of Transport and many organizations and individuals to violate the organization and implementation of bidding packages and projects carried out by Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company. According to the inspection agency, a number of cadres and party members, including key cadres of the Ministry, violated Party regulations and State laws on preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity, and violated regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.

The above violations, according to the Central Inspection Commission, have caused serious consequences, risk of huge loss of money and assets of the State, causing bad public opinion, reducing the prestige of the Party organization and the State management agency, to the point of having to take disciplinary action. The inspection agency pointed out that personal responsibility for the above violations and shortcomings belongs to Mr. Nguyen Van The, Central Committee member, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Agencies, former Minister of Transport; Le Dinh Tho, former Deputy Minister of Transport and a number of other Party organizations and Party members. Based on the above-mentioned basis, the Central Inspection Commission decided to discipline by expelling from the Party Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy , Director of Project Management Board 4; Vu Hai Tung, Head of the Road Construction Investment Management Department. The inspection agency also decided to remove from all Party positions the following: Nguyen Thanh Van , Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Investment Management, former Director of Project Management Board 85; Phan Duy Khanh , Head of Planning - Synthesis Department; Vuong Dinh Kieu , Deputy Head of Technical - Appraisal Department, Project Management Board 6, former Head of Planning - Technical Department, Project Management Board 4. The form of warning is applied to the Party Committees: Vietnam Road Administration, Project Management Board 4, Project Management Board 85 for the 2020-2025 term; Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board for the 2015-2020 term; Party Committee of the Road Construction Investment Management Sub-Department for the 2022-2025 term. The individuals disciplined with warning include: Lam Van Hoang , Director of the Vietnam Expressway Administration; Nguyen Xuan Anh, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Road Administration; Nguyen Thanh Hoai , Director of Project Management Board 85. The Central Inspection Commission did not punish the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Transport for the 2020-2025 term and the Party Committees: Department of Construction Investment Management, Ministry Inspectorate for the 2020-2025 term. This agency also disciplined Mr. Le Dinh Tho , former Deputy Minister of Transport; Le Quyet Tien , Director of the Department of Construction Investment Management; Bui Quang Thai , Director of the Vietnam Road Administration; Nguyen Xuan Cuong , Director of the Transport Department. 14 other related party members were also disciplined. In addition, the Central Inspection Commission requested competent authorities to consider and discipline the Party Committee of the Ministry of Transport for the 2021-2026 term and Mr. Nguyen Van The . This agency requested the Party Committee of the Ministry of Transport to lead and direct the timely correction of the violations and shortcomings pointed out; Coordinate in directing the review, consideration, and handling of responsibilities of party organizations and party members who have violated according to authority.
