These days, in the library reading rooms, groups of students are attentively reading books, many students are diligently looking up documents for their essays and theses. At the exhibition booth commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, some elderly men and women are researching valuable documents about the 80-year journey of building and defending the Fatherland... A quiet space combined with an atmosphere of passionate learning creates a vivid picture of a house of knowledge that is gradually being renewed to serve the community.

Coming to exchange cards and borrow books, Bui Thi Tra Giang - a 10th grade student at Viet Tri Technical High School said: Since primary school, I have made a reading card and borrowed books at this library. I really like going to the library because there are many good books here, the librarians are very enthusiastic, helping me find books on the topics I need.

The central library has long been a familiar cultural address for students, staff, intellectuals and book lovers. Not only stopping at storing and lending books, the library also regularly organizes many activities to spread the reading culture, such as: Book Festival, thematic book exhibitions, inviting speakers to talk to readers, or organizing book promotion contests, knowledge discovery contests through books and newspapers at schools...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien - Deputy Director of Phu Tho Provincial Central Library said: "We always strive to innovate the form of service so that the library is not only a place for storage but also a space for creativity, meeting and exchanging knowledge. The biggest goal is to arouse and nurture the love of reading in every citizen, especially the young generation".

To do that, over the years, the library staff has always focused on creating a friendly environment, encouraging reading habits for all ages. From the area reserved for children with low tables and chairs, many vivid illustrations to modern reading rooms... All are aimed at the most comfortable and convenient for users. On the other hand, the library has reduced procedures and is more flexible when issuing library cards to readers. In the period of 2021 - 2025, the library issued 21,150 reader cards, serving 1.6 million readers and 2.5 million information resources. In the first 7 months of 2025 alone, the library issued 2,537 reader cards, serving over 175,000 readers and over 295,000 information resources.

With a total of 306,737 books (including 40,668 new books added in the period 2021 - 2025) in many fields, the library has attracted a large number of readers to read, look up documents and borrow books. Not only stopping at printed books, the library has built databases, search systems, electronic information pages and used the integrated management system software ILIB 3.6, describing documents through the shortened MARC21 format, expanding the ability to exchange data encoded in UNICODE code table... At the same time, creating favorable conditions for library staff to access data in the form of queries on integrated relational databases, circulating documents using barcodes.

To meet the increasing needs of readers, the library is continuing to implement many solutions such as: Increasing the addition of new books, expanding the activities of bringing books to the facility, improving the professional qualifications of library staff, improving the form of introducing and displaying books by topic...

With constant innovation, the Provincial Central Library is gradually becoming a cultural and intellectual meeting place, a place to nurture reading culture and foster a love of books for the community. This is truly an ideal destination for those who are passionate about reading, contributing to enriching the spiritual life of the homeland.
