New points of the city-level 9th ​​grade excellent student exam

According to the plan of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the exam to select excellent students in cultural subjects for grade 9 junior high school students in the 2024-2025 school year will take place on January 18, 2025.

Grade 9 students of Ba Dinh district participate in the district-level excellent student exam.

If in the previous school year, the exam had 11 subjects (literature, history, geography, math, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, foreign languages, civic education , science), this year, the exam was held with only 7 subjects (literature, math, computer science, civic education, foreign languages, history and geography, natural science). In which, foreign languages ​​include English, French, Japanese; natural science includes 3 content streams: energy and change; matter and change of matter; living things.

Regarding the exam content, the exam subjects are included in the 2018 General Education Program (all levels, except grade 9 up to the end of semester I).

Regarding the exam format, the subjects of literature, history and geography, mathematics, and civics are tested in the form of written tests (essays). Natural sciences and foreign languages ​​are tested in the form of essays combined with objective tests; foreign languages ​​have an additional listening section; and information technology is tested in the form of computer programming.

Candidates participating in the City's excellent student selection exam for 9th grade cultural subjects at the secondary school level in the 2024 - 2025 school year are students studying at the secondary school level in the city; with an assessment of learning outcomes and training results at the end of the 2023 - 2024 school year or at the end of the first semester of the 2024 - 2025 school year reaching the level of Good or higher, in which the learning outcomes of the exam subject are from 8.0 or higher.

Each student can only register for one subject or sub-subject (for history and geography) or one content stream (for natural science).

Previously, the districts in Hanoi had completed the district-level excellent student exams in cultural subjects. Candidates who achieved high scores in the district-level exams will have the opportunity to try their hand at the second round (city level) or must take an exam to select the official team to compete.

Last school year, the city-level 9th ​​grade excellent student exam took place on January 21, 2024. The whole city had more than 3,500 students participating in the exam with 30 exam sites located in 30 districts, towns and cities. To ensure safety in the organization, the units mobilized 1,055 officers and teachers to perform exam invigilation and grading duties.

After the results are out, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will award certificates to the candidates. There are two types of certificates: Certificate of winning students and Certificate of participating students.
