According to information from the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC), most of August is still hot and sunny, with high electricity consumption lasting from morning to night, especially at night when the need for cooling skyrockets. At its peak, at 10:30 p.m. on August 4, 2025, the Northern power system recorded a maximum capacity of 18,983.9 MW, with a commercial electricity output of 393.090 million kWh - the highest ever.

In that context, the demand for air conditioners, fans and cooling equipment of people and businesses has increased sharply, causing the electricity load to continuously set new records in 17 provinces and cities managed by the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) (excluding Hanoi ). According to Phu Tho Power Company, at 1:00 p.m. on August 4, 2025, the electricity consumption capacity in the province reached 2,004 MW. This consumption level exceeded the previous peak of 45 MW recorded on the evening of July 18, 2025 (1,958.9 MW), and was significantly higher than the peak in 2024 of 151.2 MW recorded at 10:30 p.m. on August 10, 2024 (1,852.8 MW). Therefore, the main reason for the increase in electricity bills in August is that the demand for electricity for cooling is much higher than in normal months.
