Unique fire-breathing lion dance on the full moon night of the Mid-Autumn Festival in Cao Ha village

(Fatherland) - Every year on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the youth of Cao Ha village (Hoai Duc district, Hanoi ) organize a lion dance to liven up the atmosphere and maintain the traditional culture of the village. The lion dance team has about 15 people, parading throughout the village, dancing and blowing fire for the people and children to watch.

Every year, on the full moon day of the eighth lunar month, children in Cao Ha village (Duc Giang commune, Hoai Duc district, Hanoi) and their friends carry lanterns around the village. This is the most anticipated activity by families in the village, because in addition to strengthening the village and neighborhood ties, this activity also helps children remember the old culture and traditions.

Here there is a lion dance team consisting of dozens of members, all of whom are villagers who practice themselves to perform for the children to have a happy and meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival.

Not only lion dances but fire-blowing performances are also one of the most fun activities during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

To perform smoothly, the lion dance team gathered and practiced many days in advance.

The most difficult part was practicing breathing, holding and spraying oil. The team members had to practice diligently for many days.

According to many villagers, the lion dance team has existed since the 7X-8X generations and has gradually become a unique cultural feature of the village.

For many years, Cao Ha village has maintained its traditional beauty every full moon night of August with many fun activities such as moonlit processions, feasts, fire-breathing lion dances...

To ensure safety and proficiency, the team members will practice spraying water before spraying oil to fan the fire. The team members all practice seriously and perform voluntarily, hoping to bring the villagers a satisfying performance.

Lion dancing and fire blowing are annual activities, special performances to help children in the village have beautiful memories of the Mid-Autumn Festival, and for adults to remember the old culture and traditions.

The atmosphere is joyful and happy in every village street and alley, everyone is eager to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.
