Comrade Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee worked with the World Bank delegation.

On the morning of November 2, comrade Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a meeting and worked with the World Bank (WB) delegation led by Ms. Elif Ayhan, Manager of the Sustainable Development Program, WB Office in Vietnam, to discuss and propose the implementation of the Project to improve environmental sanitation and adapt to climate change in urban areas of Ninh Thuan province.

According to the proposal of the Provincial Water Sector Capacity Building and ODA Project Implementation Board, the Project to improve environmental sanitation and adapt to climate change in urban areas of Ninh Thuan province aims to build green infrastructure, protect the natural ecological environment, resolve areas that are frequently flooded in the central area; build regulating lakes, enhance the capacity to collect and treat wastewater, improve sanitation conditions in schools and industrial parks... The total investment is about 3,196 billion VND, including ODA loans and counterpart funds.

Comrade Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the meeting.

After listening to the province's proposal, Ms. Elif Ayhan expressed her joy at the success of the Coastal Cities Sustainable Environment Project - Phan Rang - Thap Cham City Sub-project. With the proposal to continue implementing the Environmental Sanitation Improvement Project, adapting to climate change in urban areas in Ninh Thuan, it is recommended that the province develop a specific investment plan for necessary items, especially improving the environmental sanitation situation and enhancing the benefits of the people. Along with that, there is a plan to balance and arrange capital for compensation, site clearance and construction to ensure the components, minimizing the land acquisition of the people. The working group is ready to support the province in developing a complete project cooperation plan and send it to the WB leaders for consideration, and soon have an official announcement for the locality.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee thanked the WB for its attention and support over the past time. Based on the recommendations of the Working Group, the province will focus on reviewing, researching, and re-evaluating all investment contents and items. If approved for funding for the Project on Environmental Improvement and Climate Change Adaptation in Urban Areas of Ninh Thuan Province, the province commits to fully implementing legal procedures, project implementation time as well as having a plan to balance and allocate capital appropriately.
