Dong Thap holds the 95th death anniversary of Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac

Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac was born in 1862, from Sen village (now Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province).

He was famous for his intelligence and love of learning since childhood and passed the Bachelor's degree in 1894 and the Associate Degree in 1901.

Delegates respectfully offered incense at the 95th death anniversary of Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac.

Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac was a progressive Confucian scholar. After leaving the officialdom, he traveled throughout the Southern provinces to contact monks and patriotic Confucian scholars.

He came to Hoa An (Cao Lanh) in 1927 to prescribe traditional medicine to treat people and to propagate patriotism.

He passed away on October 27, 1929 (lunar calendar) in Hoa An village, Cao Lanh, Dong Thap , at the age of 67.

Impressed by his patriotism and love for the people, local people joined hands to bury him at Troi Sanh temple (next to Hoa Long pagoda today).

At the 95th death anniversary of Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac, there was an activity reenacting the royal examination.

In the solemn atmosphere of the 95th death anniversary, delegates respectfully offered incense at the tomb and temple of Vice President Nguyen Sinh Sac, expressing their respect for his great contributions to the revolutionary cause, the development of the country in general and the homeland of the Land of Pink Lotus in particular.

The leader of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee said that every year, Dong Thap province solemnly organizes the death anniversary of Vice President Nguyen Sinh Sac to express respect and deep gratitude for the merits, morality and noble personality of the father of the great President Ho Chi Minh - the one who sowed the seeds of revolution and spread patriotic ideology in the homeland of the Red Lotus Land.

Following the example of studiousness and patriotism of Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac, in recent years, Dong Thap province and the whole country have joined hands and contributed to the project of preserving, embellishing and promoting the value of the Nguyen Sinh Sac Relic Site to make it more and more spacious.

The Party Committee, government and people of Dong Thap province will promote the spirit of solidarity and determination to build the province to develop more and more, contributing with the whole country to successfully achieve the goal of "rich people, strong country, democracy, equality and civilization".
