Angry because her lover wanted to break up, Kim bought 50,000 VND worth of gasoline, put it in 2 plastic cans, and put them in the trunk of her motorbike. On the evening of October 9, 2023, after finishing drinking, Kim drove her motorbike to D.'s house, took 2 plastic cans of gasoline that she had prepared, threw them at the main door and the side door of D.'s house, and used a lighter to set them on fire. Kim then left the scene.

At that time, D's family was sleeping in the house, discovered the fire, so they shouted and joined the neighbors to put out the fire. Because it was discovered in time, the fire did not cause any human casualties, but damaged a lot of property.
