The Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Management Board (Traffic Board) has just submitted a report to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the work of handing over the site to meet the construction progress and disbursement of capital in 2024 for the project to build and expand National Highway 50 in Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City.

The Traffic Department said that this unit is urgently urging the construction to meet the completion schedule, opening the parallel section of National Highway 50 (from Nguyen Van Linh Street to Km4+200) in 2024 and completing the entire project in 2025 on schedule.
The newly constructed section from Nguyen Van Linh Street to the intersection with the existing National Highway 50 - Km4+200 (within the scope of Construction Packages 1, 2, 3, 4) is being urgently constructed. However, there are some locations where the site has not been handed over, which may lead to the failure to ensure the construction progress as planned.
Specifically, in construction package No. 1 (existing Gia Hoa residential area section), there are still 3 houses blocking more than 1/2 of the road cross-section. The reason for not clearing the land is because the private enterprise Gia Hoa Construction and Housing Business has not yet completed compensation for the people.
At construction package No. 2 (Phong Phu 4 Residential Area section), there are still about 8 houses adjacent to Trinh Quang Nghi Street blocking the entire cross-section of the road. The reason is also because the managing company Khang Phuc House Investment and Business LLC has not yet completed compensation for the people.
The Traffic Department stated that the two above-mentioned locations with land acquisition problems have many difficulties in legal procedures, which are expected to prolong the handover of land and affect the project's progress.
Therefore, this unit has regularly coordinated with the People's Committee of Binh Chanh District to report to competent authorities for consideration and resolution. In order to ensure completion progress in 2024 and meet the public investment disbursement plan, the Traffic Committee proposed that the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City remove obstacles to promptly hand over the site.

According to the Traffic Department, the expansion of National Highway 50 in Binh Chanh District is a key and urgent traffic project of the city to solve traffic congestion and reduce traffic accidents. In particular, it meets the need for smooth traffic for the important transport route of the city and the southern region of Ho Chi Minh City.
The project to expand National Highway 50 in Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City has a total investment of nearly 1,500 billion VND, started at the end of 2022, completed at the end of 2024. The route is expanded to 34 m, with 6 lanes, 7 km long. The project has a starting point at the intersection with Nguyen Van Linh Street, the end point is adjacent to Long An province.
National Highway 50 is an inter-regional route connecting Long An and Tien Giang . This route will connect with many important traffic projects such as Ring Road 3, Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway.
