According to Road Management Area III, after more than 20 years of operation, this route has degraded, especially since 2015. Severe damage is common on the cement concrete pavement slabs from Km 1349+980 - Km 1365+230 and Km 1380+680 - Km 1431+127 with longitudinal cracks, transverse cracks, corner cracks and complete breakage.
In recent years, Road Management Area III has reported to the Vietnam Road Administration to repair some sections of cement concrete road surface by completely removing the existing cement concrete road surface and rebuilding it with asphalt concrete structure on cement-reinforced crushed stone aggregate foundation.
Currently, the repair of some cement concrete road sections from Km 1380+680 - Km 1431+000, about 4.78km with a total investment of more than 56 billion VND, is being carried out on the route, to be completed in the third quarter of 2025. It is expected that in the fourth quarter of 2025, the repair of the cement concrete road section from Km 1380+680 - Km 1431, about 4.93km with a total investment of 47 billion VND, will continue.
Road Management Area III said that to ensure traffic safety while waiting for major repair projects to be implemented, the unit has directed the Road Management Office and regular management and maintenance contractors to strengthen maintenance work and repair any damage to the road surface that arises on the route, which will be handled promptly, to ensure smooth traffic and serve people's safe travel.
