Nearly 3,000 people marched to celebrate 70 years of Education in Hanoi

This morning (November 10), the Hanoi Department of Education and Training solemnly organized the program "March of Capital Students" to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Hanoi Education and Training sector (1954-2024).

The event took place in the flower garden area of ​​Ba Kieu Temple, the street of Le Thach Street, Dinh Tien Hoang Street, the walking space of Hoan Kiem Lake area and surrounding areas.

The program gathered nearly 3,000 students, teachers, representatives of units and schools with honor and pride in the 70-year development achievements of the Hanoi Education and Training sector.

The parade "March of Capital Students" was elaborately organized with 38 groups: Red Flag Team - carrying the National Flag; Military ceremonial group of the General Staff; Ministry of Public Security ceremonial group; 30 groups of junior high school students from 30 districts, towns and cities; 70 female students from Chu Van An High School; Ethnic minority student group; Junior high school and high school student groups from some international schools; circus group; puppetry group.

Each group has performances of trumpet playing, drumming, blue pan, singing and cheering movements to the music.

The parade consisted of students in bright uniforms waving to people passing by Dinh Tien Hoang Street.

Each performance by the students conveys their love and pride for their beautiful homeland and country, demonstrating their artistic talents nurtured at their beloved school - where they study and practice every day.

A group of 70 middle and high school students from several international schools in Hanoi paraded in national costumes on the streets.

A variety of acts from the circus troupe were performed elaborately and colorfully, attracting the attention of people and tourists on the walking street.

The parade not only attracted the attention of Hanoi people but also foreign tourists.

Mr. Jonathan Wallace Baker, Chief Representative of UNESCO in Vietnam, expressed his joy at being present at the event. 2024 marks the 25th anniversary of Hanoi being recognized by UNESCO as a City for Peace, and is also the time of establishing the UNESCO Office in Hanoi.

"As students march today in the heart of peaceful Hanoi, I hope they will feel proud and appreciate the heritage of their ancestors and their fellow citizens, from all ages and backgrounds. Hold your heads high, and share your stories and achievements with your international friends in peace, global citizenship, creativity and, of course, education," said Jonathan Wallace Baker.

Also at the ceremony, participating units were awarded souvenir flags of the "Capital Student March" program.
