Domestic coffee price list updated on the morning of March 23, 2025 |
Last week, Robusta coffee prices recovered strongly due to concerns about reduced supply from Vietnam and Indonesia, thereby causing the world market for this type of coffee to increase for many consecutive sessions, creating opportunities for Vietnamese coffee exporting enterprises.
In addition, currently, major markets such as the US and Europe continue to increase coffee imports, especially Robusta, to serve instant coffee production, which has supported the increase in coffee prices.
Major coffee growing regions in Vietnam and Brazil are expected to enter peak harvest periods, creating short-term downward pressure on prices. A stronger US dollar makes coffee more expensive for importing markets, reducing purchasing power.
According to the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA), Vietnam's coffee export turnover exceeded the 2 billion USD mark in just the first 2.5 months of 2025. Notably, in the first 15 days of March, the sharp increase in world coffee prices has significantly increased Vietnam's export turnover.
Brazil and Vietnam are the two largest coffee producers in the world, accounting for nearly 50% of global output. Meanwhile, the European Union and the United States are the largest coffee consuming and importing markets.
Experts say coffee prices are currently under pressure to take profits after the USD increased in value compared to other major currencies. In the recent policy meeting, the Fed decided to keep the base interest rate in the range of 4.25% - 4.50%, and is expected to cut interest rates twice, each time by 0.25 percentage points by the end of this year.
According to the USDA report, global coffee production in the 2024/25 crop year is expected to increase by 4% compared to the previous year to 174.855 million bags. However, ending stocks are forecast to decrease by 6.6% to a 25-year low.
