Pepper price today in the world

The global pepper market did not have many price fluctuations in recent trading sessions, except for Brazil.

White pepper: Indonesian white pepper prices also remained unchanged, maintained at USD 10,042/ton.

Malaysia

Black Pepper: Malaysian ASTA black pepper price was stable at USD 9,700/ton.

White pepper: Malaysian ASTA white pepper price remains unchanged at USD 12,900/ton.

Brazil and Vietnam

Brazil: Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price decreased slightly by 0.76 USD/ton, remaining at 6,600 USD/ton.

Vietnam: Vietnam's pepper export prices remained stable. Black pepper 500g/l and 550g/l were priced at USD 6,240/ton and USD 6,370/ton, respectively. Vietnam's ASTA white pepper also remained unchanged at USD 9,150/ton.

The recent fluctuations in pepper prices have been influenced by many factors, including domestic supply and demand and the global economic context.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , the high price of pepper is due to the scarcity of domestic supply. The 2025 pepper harvest has ended, many farmers have sold out, while the inventory at agents and businesses is not much left. This creates an imbalance between supply and demand, pushing prices up.

Pepper prices today in the country

This morning, pepper prices in key production areas in Southern Vietnam decreased slightly. The purchase price fluctuated between 150,000 - 152,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, pepper price in Gia Lai decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, reaching 150,000 VND/kg.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, maintaining the level of 151,000 VND/kg.

Pepper prices in Dak Lak and Binh Phuoc decreased by VND1,000/kg to VND152,000/kg and VND151,000/kg, respectively.

Dak Nong also reduced 1,000 VND/kg, keeping the price at 152,000 VND/kg.

While domestic supply is limited, Vietnam's pepper export demand is showing signs of strong recovery. This causes businesses and traders to compete with each other to purchase raw materials, creating momentum for continuous price increases.

In August 2025, Vietnam exported 21,000 tons of pepper, worth 127 million USD.

In the first 8 months of 2025, the total export value reached 1.1 billion USD, up 27% over the same period in 2024, although the volume decreased by 9.8%.

It is noteworthy that the average export price over the past 8 months reached 6,740 USD/ton, an increase of nearly 41% over the same period last year.

With the current strong growth momentum, the outlook for Vietnamese pepper prices is assessed as very positive.

In 2024, pepper exports will return to the "billion-dollar club" for the first time in many years. With a turnover of 1.1 billion USD in just the first 8 months of 2025, it is likely that Vietnam's pepper export value will surpass the 1.3 billion USD mark for the whole of 2024.

Vietnam's demand for pepper in major markets such as the US, Germany, India, and the UK is increasing rapidly. The 2.2-fold increase in the UK market shows the diversification and expansion of the Vietnamese pepper market.

With limited domestic supply, high export demand and average export prices continuing at record levels, domestic pepper prices are forecast to remain high and may set new price milestones in the coming time.
