New Zealand Official: Vietnam's Achievements Inspire the Region and Partners

According to a VNA reporter reporting from Wellington, on the evening of September 22 (local time), at the Parliament House in the capital Wellington - the national symbol of New Zealand - the Vietnamese Embassy in New Zealand solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

The ceremony was attended by honored guests including Speaker of the New Zealand Parliament Gerry Brownlee; especially Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on a working visit to New Zealand; New Zealand Deputy Foreign Minister Grahame Morton; Vietnamese-American female parliamentarian Pham Thi Ngoc Lan; and numerous guests including representatives of leaders of ministries, branches, agencies, government organizations, localities and cities of New Zealand; representatives of friendship organizations, education, businesses, and friends of New Zealand; ambassadors, high commissioners, representatives of diplomatic corps; Vietnamese civil servants and students studying at universities, representatives of associations and groups of Vietnamese communities in this Oceanian country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to New Zealand Phan Minh Giang emphasized that in 80 years of construction and development, Vietnam has overcome many difficulties and challenges, achieved great and historic achievements, and built the foundation, potential, position and international prestige it has today.

Affirming that the country is standing at a new historical starting point to rise up and take off, Ambassador Phan Minh Giang hopes that all Vietnamese people at home and abroad will unite and join hands to build a rich, prosperous, civilized and happy Vietnam.

To achieve this, in addition to the continuous efforts of generations of Vietnamese people, there is also the valuable cooperation and support of international friends, including New Zealand. On this occasion, the Ambassador expressed his deep gratitude to international friends, the New Zealand people and the Vietnamese community in New Zealand, who have always supported and made practical contributions to the cause of building a peaceful , unified, happy, prosperous and developed Vietnam.

Welcoming the strong development of the Vietnam - New Zealand bilateral relationship in recent times, Ambassador Phan Minh Giang expressed his belief that, on the basis of the relationship that the two countries have worked hard to cultivate over the past 50 years, together with the determination, efforts and close cooperation of both countries, the Vietnam - New Zealand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will continue to develop more comprehensively and extensively, contributing to building a prosperous and sustainable future for the people of the two countries.

Attending the ceremony, guests visited the photo exhibition introducing 50 years of bilateral relations between Vietnam and New Zealand as well as the land and people of Vietnam. Within the framework of the ceremony, guests enjoyed a special art program, leaving a deep impression on New Zealand and international friends, while also arousing pride and love for the homeland and country in the hearts of overseas Vietnamese and the Vietnamese community in New Zealand.

On this occasion, guests experienced and enjoyed culinary culture and traditional dishes typical of the Vietnamese people.
