The panpipe troupe of the excellent artist Sinh A Tau, in Thon 4 village, Sinh Phinh commune, Tua Chua district ( Dien Bien ) was established more than 10 years ago. In addition to regularly practicing and performing panpipes, the Sinh Phinh panpipe troupe also focuses on teaching the younger generation.

Meritorious artist Sinh A Tau said: "In this village, 100% of people do not abandon the panpipe, because it is very precious to us Mong people. In 2019, we taught a class of 10 people, and in 2018, we also taught a class of 10 people."

As for Mr. Sung A Cau and many Mong men in Hang De De village, Sinh Phinh commune, their joy during the free days of farming is sitting together to make panpipes. Under Mr. Cau's guidance, each person will do a step, then put them together to make a panpipe. While making, they also try to play the panpipes together. That is the joy, which further raises their pride in the traditional musical instrument of their people.

Mr. Sung A Cau said: "If I know how to do it, I will teach my brothers too. I am willing to teach my brothers in the village so they know how to do it. When I get old and my eyesight gets weak, I will have to teach my brothers."

Mr. Vu A Hung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tua Chua district, Dien Bien province, said: In 2022, the art of making and dancing panpipes of the Mong people in Dien Bien province was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage. The locality is currently continuing to promote many solutions to preserve and further promote the value of this unique cultural heritage.

Mr. Vu A Hung said: "The district People's Committee has also organized a contest to give artisans a playground and exchange. It is a very useful playground for artisans to exchange. During the Culture - Tourism week held next October, the district will continue to organize the contest to continue promoting cultural values and introduce this intangible cultural heritage to tourists. And continue to teach the younger generation. Because this is a unique cultural feature of the Mong people of Tua Chua".

The Khen has long been considered a treasure of spiritual value, closely associated with spiritual life, and a close friend of the Mong people of Tua Chua and the Northwestern regions. For that reason, through the ups and downs of history, generations of Mong people here have always preserved and promoted it, so that the Khen sound always resonates and has the opportunity to survive forever.
