Ha Long is crowded with tourists, restaurant owners are tired of collecting money

On the afternoon of April 29, Thanh Nien reporters recorded that Bai Chay tourist area (Ha Long City) was packed with people. The main roads leading to this tourist area were jammed due to the large number of vehicles.

Meanwhile, parking lots are overloaded, leading to many spontaneous parking lots "springing up" and arbitrarily collecting money from tourists.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Dung (42 years old, a tourist from Hai Phong ) said: "My family departed from the center of Hai Phong city to Quang Ninh and it took more than 2 hours; while it usually only takes about 50 minutes to get there. When we arrived at Bai Chay, it took more than 1 hour because of traffic jams and finding a parking space."

Observations by reporters show that Bai Chay beach is a "hot spot" in Ha Long, with tens of thousands of people flocking to cool off. Services such as bathing and refreshments along the beach are overloaded.

Notably, if tourists do not make reservations in advance at restaurants in the center of Bai Chay or in the Hon Gai area (Ha Long City), they will have to leave. Many tables have to order food at the beginning to be served, because if they want to order more dishes, they will have to wait a long time. Many tourists also said that the service prices at the restaurants have increased slightly, and there is no phenomenon of overcharging.

According to the People's Committee of Ha Long City, due to the traffic congestion in recent days, the police force had to increase the number of working groups to regulate and direct traffic.

Also according to the People's Committee of Ha Long City, during the 3-day holiday (April 27-29), this locality welcomed about 200,000 visitors, with revenue reaching over 200 billion VND.
