Hanoi gives out free food and drinks to parade viewers

Accordingly, the city will provide free essential goods such as drinking water, dry food, instant cakes; at the same time, arrange shelters from the rain and sun and organize free bus routes for people, especially the elderly, from other localities to Hanoi.

On the streets where the parade and marching procession pass, functional units are assigned to ensure security, order and arrange priority positions for veterans, the elderly, women and children. According to the plan, joint training, preliminary rehearsal and general rehearsal activities will take place on August 21, 24 and 30, before the official celebration, parade and marching ceremony is held at 6:30 am on September 2 in the capital.

In addition to watching live, people can watch on large outdoor screens. The city will install 22 screens at 18 public locations on three main routes, of which the Van Cao - Quan Ngua Stadium - Kim Ma - Nguyen Thai Hoc axis has 7 screens, the Nguyen Thai Hoc - Trang Thi - Trang Tien - August Revolution Square route has 6 screens, the rest are located at public locations and gateways to the capital such as Long Bien, Hoa Binh , Cau Giay, Nguyen Trai and the National Exhibition Center.

In addition, 136 LED screens available at agencies, schools, stadiums and 127 socialized screens across the area will also be mobilized, prioritizing broadcasting time to serve propaganda and visual agitation work.

The city recommends that people use public transport as many routes will be banned or restricted during the event. Two tram lines will have extended operating hours, with August 21, 24, 27 and 29 running from 5:30 a.m. to midnight; August 30 running from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; and September 1 running from 5:30 a.m. to midnight. Notably, on September 2, trams will run continuously from midnight to midnight, with a 6-minute interval between trips during peak hours and 10-minute intervals during normal hours, with only an 80-minute pause for technical service.

Some bus routes passing through the central area include: Route 09A from Hoan Kiem Lake through Kim Ma, Cau Giay to Nguyen Hoang Ton; Route 22A from Gia Lam through Kim Ma; Route E09 from Smart City urban area to West Lake; Route 32 from Giap Bat through Kim Ma to Nhon and BRT route from Yen Nghia to Kim Ma. For those using personal vehicles, the city assigns communes and wards to arrange agency headquarters, educational institutions, cultural houses, and stadiums as vehicle gathering places.
