The Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with the People's Committee of Ung Hoa district and relevant units to inspect, clarify the incident and strictly handle any violations.
The Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee also requested that information units respond to the press according to regulations and report to the City People's Committee before May 24.
Previously, as VietNamNet reported, an 8th grade female student at Minh Duc Secondary School (Ung Hoa District, Hanoi) was beaten by her classmates right in the classroom.
The incident became known when a clip was shared on social media of a female student being beaten by 4-5 other students, right inside the classroom.
According to the clip, the victim was repeatedly beaten by a group of friends in the face and head. A female student then took off the victim’s shirt. When a male student tried to stop them, the group continued to beat the male student.
Speaking to VietNamNet on the afternoon of May 19, Mr. Vu Van Diem, Principal of Minh Duc Secondary School, confirmed that the incident took place at his school. According to Mr. Diem, after receiving the information, the school also proceeded to resolve the incident.
