Bac Ninh: Forest planting exceeds yearly plan

BAC NINH - According to the Bac Ninh Provincial Forest Protection Department, in July, the whole province planted more than 1,170 hectares of concentrated forests. Up to now, the whole province has planted more than 10,760 hectares of concentrated forests, reaching 107.6% of the yearly plan, an increase of nearly 4,000 hectares compared to the same period in 2024.

Specifically, the communes of Son Dong district (old) planted the most with more than 4,430 hectares; the second place was the communes of Luc Nam district (old) planted more than 1,810 hectares; the third place was the communes and wards of Luc Ngan district (old) and Chu town (old) planted more than 1,570 hectares.

In addition to the small timber plantation areas, in July, the whole province also planted more than 422.4 hectares of large timber plantations and converted 61.3 hectares of small timber plantations into large timber. Thus far, the whole province has planted more than 3,180 hectares of large timber forests, ensuring the plan assigned by the province for the year.

The above results were achieved because since the end of 2024, local forest rangers have advised the People's Committees at the same level to review the newly exploited forest areas; develop afforestation plans, and reforest bare hills. At the same time, they have tightened inspection and handling of violations in the production and trade of forestry seedlings. At the same time, the profits from the forest are high, so people focus on investing in economic forest planting.
