Ho Chi Minh City People's Council convened the second session to review and comment on many important contents after the rearrangement.

The Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council has just convened the 2nd session of the 10th term of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, 2021-2026 term (regular session in mid-2025). The session took place on July 24, at the Conference and Exhibition Center Hall, No. 1 Le Loi Street, Binh Duong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

The meeting is expected to welcome and listen to instructions from comrade Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

At the meeting, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council will focus on assessing the socio -economic situation in the first 6 months of the year and tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of 2025; the results of the People's Council's thematic supervision of "The implementation of Resolution 98/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Ho Chi Minh City".

At the same time, focus on discussing and reviewing proposals on incentive and support mechanisms for investors participating in renovating and rebuilding apartment buildings in Ho Chi Minh City; regulations on decentralization of revenue sources, expenditure tasks and percentage (%) of revenue division for each budget level in Ho Chi Minh City in 2025 according to simplified procedures.

The meeting is expected to also consider many contents under the authority of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council. In particular, it will discuss and consider approving the report on the allocation norms for the operating budget of State agencies in Ho Chi Minh City in 2025; the resolution regulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety after the reorganization of provincial-level administrative units; the resolution regulating revenues and collection levels, and the revenue and expenditure management mechanism for services serving and supporting educational activities of public educational institutions in Ho Chi Minh City in the 2025-2026 school year.

The meeting also discussed and approved the report on receiving the public investment plans of the three localities before the merger and assigned the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to decide on adjusting the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025 and 2025; state budget revenue estimates in the area, local budget revenue and expenditure estimates in 2025 and the local budget allocation plan in 2025 of Ho Chi Minh City; naming streets and adjusting routes...

Within the framework of the meeting, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will also announce activities participating in building the city government in the first 6 months of 2025. The People's Procuracy of Ho Chi Minh City and the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City will report on the work in the first 6 months of the year, and key tasks and directions for the last 6 months of 2025.

After the merger, the HCMC People's Council has 205 delegates. At the first session of the 10th term People's Council held on July 1, the HCMC People's Council completed the committees and personnel of the committees under the People's Council. Specifically, the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the HCMC People's Council was merged; the Economic - Budget Committee, the Legal Committee, the Urban Committee, and the Cultural - Social Committee were established.
