On the second day of her state visit to France with King Charles III, British Queen Camilla had a friendly match of table tennis with First Lady Brigitte Macron, People magazine reported on September 22.

The friendly competition took place at a sports center in Saint-Denis, north of Paris, on September 21.

In the video of the match, Brigitte, 70, serves to Camilla, 76. However, the Queen drops the ball. Although she was allowed to serve in the next round, she still made a number of errors that prevented the ball from going over the net.

The match ended in a victory for the French First Lady, during which King Charles III was introduced to French sports stars including former Chelsea footballer Didier Drogba and rugby player Demba Bamba.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla arrived in France on September 20. During the three-day trip, they will visit Paris and Bordeaux to celebrate the “shared history, culture and values” between Britain and France, according to a press release. The trip was originally scheduled for March but was postponed due to protests over pension policies for French workers.

At the end of the second day of his tour of France, King Charles III gave a historic speech at the French Senate, pledging that his country "will always be one of France's closest allies and best friends".

King Charles II praised the partnership between the two countries as “still vitally important as we face the challenges of this world together”, mentioning the Ukraine conflict and the climate crisis. French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed the King’s comments, The Independent reported.
