In recent times, with the Central and Provincial industrial promotion funds, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Energy Conservation (Department of Industry and Trade) has implemented many programs to support enterprises in innovating equipment and production technology. Along with that, trade promotion programs also actively support entities to strengthen connections and expand consumption markets.
New machinery system is supported by investment at Dai Phat Forestry Products Company Limited.
Thanh Hoa has abundant forest product resources. However, the added value of the wood industry is not high because it is mainly sold raw to traders or processed. Faced with this limitation, the National Industrial Promotion Project (KCQG) with the theme "Supporting rural industrial establishments in the province to develop forest product processing in the period of 2018-2020 and the period of 2023-2025" has been implemented, with the goal of supporting enterprises with some deep processing equipment, and raising awareness of technology application for enterprises.
With this project, in the period of 2018-2020, the industrial promotion fund has supported enterprises and rural industrial establishments in the province to develop forest product processing, with a total support fund of 6.5 billion VND, including: Support for the application of advanced machinery and equipment in forest product processing for 11 units; support for the construction of technical demonstration models in forest product processing for 4 units; organizing 1 workshop to improve productivity and quality, develop forest product processing for 150 delegates. Together with the resources of enterprises, these support programs have initially helped beneficiary enterprises such as: Truong Son Wood Industry Joint Stock Company, Trieu Thai Son Company Limited, Xuyen Binh Company Limited... to access a number of new export markets such as: USA, India, Thailand, Taiwan and Korea...
In the 2023-2025 period, the National Forestry Project continues to support establishments and enterprises to promote the application of science and technology, high-tech machinery and equipment in forest product processing. In 2023, with a budget of 3.7 billion VND, the project supported advanced machinery and equipment in forest product processing for 9 units; supported the construction of a technical demonstration model in forest product processing for 1 unit.
Typically, Dai Phat Forestry Products Company Limited (Nhu Thanh) is one of the units that benefit from the funding support from the National KCQG Program in 2023. In the machinery system worth 13.8 billion VND, the company has been supported by the project to invest in board sewing machines, boiler systems, board turning machines, automatic saw blade sharpening machines... to help the enterprise complete the production process synchronously. With this machinery system, Dai Phat Forestry Products Company Limited is the first unit to successfully produce plywood for export from eucalyptus, acacia and mixed wood raw materials in Thanh Hoa province and successfully signed many long-term export contracts with Japanese partners.
According to the Center for Industrial Promotion and Energy Conservation, along with supporting the application of advanced machinery and equipment in production and supporting technical demonstration models, from 2023 to present, the unit has also supported enterprises in the province to participate in more than 10 domestic fairs; organized many supply-demand connection fairs to promote and introduce products, to seek connections with more customers and new markets.
Thanh Hoa province currently has about 21,000 operating enterprises, of which more than 90% are small and micro enterprises, needing additional resources to innovate technology and improve competitiveness. According to the plan, in the period of 2022-2025, Thanh Hoa province will receive nearly 40 billion VND in funding to implement industrial promotion programs. This will be an important driving force to help enterprises increase productivity, product quality, and improve competitiveness.
According to the Center for Industrial Promotion and Energy Saving, although the level of support for each project is not large, it is an affirmation of the right direction of production establishments in economic development, helping investors and enterprises to be more confident in the process of investing in production and expanding the market. Currently, the unit is coordinating with the Department of Industrial Promotion Management - Department of Industry and Trade of localities to review the first phase of the National Industrial Promotion projects in 2024 and check the progress of project implementation of the beneficiaries, guide enterprises to complete investment documents; install machinery and equipment, operate equipment that has been registered for industrial promotion support; preparing to sign a contract for a pilot project on forest product processing under the National Industrial Promotion Program in 2024. "The Center will enthusiastically guide the subjects on the documents and procedures to create the best conditions for the subjects to participate in the industrial promotion program, apply machinery in production and support participation in more fairs, connect suppliers to expand the market for products", said Mr. Hoang Xuan Phong, Director of the Industrial Promotion and Energy Saving Center.
