Students who win prizes in national sports, physical education , cultural and artistic competitions will receive a maximum reward of 7.5 million VND/student from Ho Chi Minh City.

The People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City has just passed Resolution 35 amending and supplementing a number of articles of Resolution 02/2021/ND-HDND dated March 23, 2021 of the People's Council of the City stipulating a number of policies to encourage and reward teachers, students, and trainees who won prizes in city-level, national, regional, and international competitions, and teachers with achievements in training and fostering students and trainees who won prizes in Ho Chi Minh City.

Compared to the previous Resolution 02, Resolution 35 has added the beneficiaries of the policy: Students and trainees who won prizes in national competitions, sports, cultural and artistic competitions. The reward levels are as follows:

• Gold medal (first): 7.5 million VND.
• Silver medal (second): 5 million VND.
• Bronze medal (three): 3.5 million VND.
• Consolation prize (fourth prize): 2 million VND.

Thus, this is the first time Ho Chi Minh City has regulated the reward level for students who win prizes in national competitions and competitions on sports, culture and arts. The policy once again affirms the goal of comprehensive education for students of Ho Chi Minh City, encouraging students to demonstrate their abilities and develop their talents not only in subjects but also in sports, culture and arts activities...

Expanding the scope of rewards

In addition, Resolution 35 also amends and supplements the subjects of application. Specifically, there are 3 subjects of application as follows:

• Students and trainees won prizes in exams, competitions, and contests organized or sent to participate by the Department of Education and Training of the City.
• Teachers who won prizes in competitions organized or sent to participate by the Department of Education and Training; teachers who have achievements in training and nurturing students and trainees who won prizes.
• Agencies, organizations and individuals involved in the implementation of the resolution.

Thus, compared to the previous Resolution 02, the subjects of application of the new resolution have changed a lot. Previously, the old resolution stipulated that students and teachers who won prizes in international, regional and national competitions and competitions sent by the Department of Education and Training to participate, but now the subjects of commendation are agencies, organizations and individuals related to the implementation of the resolution.

Bonus for students

In addition to the above adjustments, Resolution 35 continues to maintain the reward level for individuals who win prizes in international Olympic competitions in subjects, international scientific and technical research competitions and equivalent. The reward levels are as follows:

• Gold medal (first prize): 200 million VND.
• Silver medal (second prize): 160 million VND.
• Bronze medal (third prize): 120 million VND.
• The consolation prize (fourth prize) is 50 million VND.

Students and trainees who win prizes in regional Olympic competitions in subjects, regional scientific and technical research competitions and equivalents are entitled to the following levels:

• Gold medal (first prize): 120 million VND.
• Silver medal (second prize): 90 million VND.
• Bronze medal (third prize): 75 million VND.
• Consolation prize (fourth prize): 30 million VND.

Students who win prizes in excellent student competitions, science and technology research competitions and national student competitions with startup ideas will enjoy the following benefits:

• Gold medal (first prize): 50 million VND.
• Silver medal (second prize): 40 million VND.
• Bronze medal (third prize): 30 million VND.
• Consolation prize (fourth prize): 20 million VND.

Students who win gold medals (first prizes) in excellent student competitions, science and technology research competitions, and student competitions with city-level startup ideas will receive the following benefits:

• Primary school: 5 million VND.
• Secondary school level (General Education and Continuing Education): 10 million VND.
• High school level (GTPT and GDTX): 12 million VND.

Bonus level for teachers

For teachers, the reward for teachers who win prizes in international, regional and national competitions is equivalent to the reward for students in each competition. Teachers who win first prize in the city-level competition are awarded 12 million VND.

Teachers who directly train and nurture students and trainees who win prizes in exams are entitled to receive 70% of the incentive payment based on the student's prize.

The bonus for the group of teachers participating in training and fostering students and trainees is equal to 30% of the incentive level of teachers directly training and fostering students and trainees who win prizes.
