Hue Academy of Music "rushed" to pay salaries to lecturers and staff after press reports

Regarding the case of Hue Academy of Music staff being upset because of unpaid salaries reported by Dan Viet, on September 15, according to news from Hue Academy of Music, this agency has paid August 2024 salaries to staff, lecturers and employees.

According to the leadership of Hue Academy of Music, the agency has paid the August 2024 salary to all 102 officers, lecturers and employees. Regarding the September 2024 salary, Hue Academy of Music will proceed to pay in the next few days.

Hue Academy of Music has started paying salaries after the press reported that the agency owed two months of salaries, causing many difficulties in the lives of its staff, lecturers, and employees.

Many officers, lecturers and staff of Hue Academy of Music said that being paid their salaries after a long wait helps them initially have enough money to cover their living expenses, especially to contribute money for their children at the beginning of the new school year.

As reported, many officers, lecturers and staff of Hue Academy of Music expressed their anger at being owed 2 months of salary, making their lives difficult.

According to these officers, lecturers, and employees, the fact that Hue Academy of Music owes salaries for August and September 2024 has disrupted the lives of many families of officers, lecturers, and employees, especially when they need money to pay many contributions for their children at the beginning of the new school year.

Even an employee of the Hue Academy of Music said that because he was owed 2 months of salary, when he got sick, he "didn't dare go to the hospital".

Faced with this situation, many cadres, lecturers and employees requested to clarify whether the responsibility of owing employees' salaries is the responsibility of the leaders of the Hue Academy of Music or the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Hue Academy of Music is a revenue-generating administrative unit under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism).

Discussing the situation of unpaid salaries for staff, lecturers and employees, Ms. Ha Mai Huong - Director of Hue Academy of Music said: The 2-month salary delay is due to the chief accountant's term ending at the end of July 2024. Hue Academy of Music has completed the application for appointment of an accountant to submit to the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in early August 2024. Because the process requires the opinions of the Department of Personnel Finance and the Department of Financial Planning of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism before submitting to the Minister, it takes time.

Currently, Hue Academy of Music has 102 officers, lecturers and employees, of which about 80 officers, lecturers and employees are on the payroll and are paid by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, while the contract workers are paid by the Academy.
