More than 1,000 union members and youths participated in the meaningful Green Sunday

On September 21, the Central Youth Union organized the 6th nationwide Green Sunday and responded to the Campaign to Make the World Cleaner in Hue city, with the participation of central and city leaders and more than 1,000 union members and youth.

At the ceremony, 40 Youth Volunteer Teams representing the communes and wards of Hue city were introduced. This is the core force, accompanying the community in environmental protection work, contributing to maintaining and promoting the effectiveness of activities for a green, clean and sustainable city.

Within the framework of the program, the Organizing Committee presented 30 gifts to families with revolutionary contributions, demonstrating the morality of “remembering the source of water when drinking”. At the same time, 20 bicycles were given to children who overcame difficulties and excelled in their studies, adding motivation and encouraging the spirit of learning, helping them confidently go to school.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, delegates and a large number of union members and youth simultaneously participated in planting more than 500 new trees and many types of flowers in the central square of Hue city, contributing to creating a beautiful landscape and improving the living environment.

One of the key activities of the program is the discussion on “Green and sustainable youth start-ups”, attracting the participation of many experts and 250 young entrepreneurs. Delegates focused on discussing mechanisms and policies to support start-ups, the potential of community tourism associated with cultural preservation, solutions to reduce plastic waste and apply technology in clean agriculture .

In addition, the Youth Union also implemented activities to eliminate black spots of environmental pollution to thoroughly handle waste, returning a green - clean - beautiful landscape to the residential area. This is a practical action to contribute to protecting the living environment, while affirming the pioneering role of union members and youth in the volunteer movement.

On the same afternoon, the program “Lighting up the dream of rehabilitation” took place at Binh Dien Prison. This is a concrete activity to coordinate the work of education, rehabilitation, and helping young prisoners gain more confidence and determination to reform with peace of mind, return to their families and society soon, reintegrate into the community, and become useful people.

Here, the Organizing Committee presented 30 gifts to prisoners with difficult circumstances and progressive reform; presented the Youth Book Library to the prison and book publications to the prison; and organized counseling activities, psychological sharing and artistic exchange between prisoners and artists.

In addition, many meaningful activities were also carried out, such as: Inauguration of the "Youth Tree Row" project; organizing the "Colors of Hope" painting contest for prisoners; visiting and giving gifts to prisoners whose children followed their mothers to the camp...
