More than 2.67 million customers have power restored after storms

VTV.vn - By the afternoon of September 30, the electricity industry had restored power to more than 2.67 million customers, reaching nearly 65% ​​of the total number affected by storm No. 10.

As of the afternoon of September 30, 2025, storm No. 10 (Bualoi) continued to affect the operation of hydropower projects, power grids and power supply in many northern and central provinces.

Hydropower plants under EVN and Power Generation Corporations in the affected areas are still ensuring safety of their works. As of 4:00 p.m. on September 30, 20 hydropower reservoirs were releasing spillways to ensure flood prevention capacity and reduce flooding downstream.

Specifically, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant recorded the largest inflow to the lake of 6,985 m³/s at 09:30 and decreased to 5,550 m³/s at 13:00; currently opening 8 deep spillway gates to ensure project safety. Thac Ba Hydropower Plant had the largest inflow to the lake of 4,110 m³/s at 22:00 on September 29, decreased to 2,820 m³/s at 13:00 on September 30; currently opening 3 surface spillway gates.

Due to prolonged storm winds and heavy rains, a number of incidents occurred on the 500kV, 220kV and 110kV high-voltage grid systems. Immediately after the storm winds reduced, operating units urgently mobilized human resources and equipment to fix the problem. By the afternoon of September 30, units under the National Power Transmission Corporation and the Northern and Central Power Corporations had restored 8/15 incidents on the 500kV grid, 18/18 incidents on the 220kV grid and 60/70 incidents on the 110kV grid.

The impact of storm No. 10 caused power outages to approximately 4.12 million customers in 16 provinces and cities in the North and Central regions. By the afternoon of September 30, thanks to urgent efforts, units under the Northern and Central Power Corporation had restored power to more than 2.67 million customers, reaching nearly 65% ​​of the total number of affected customers.

The Northern and Central Power Corporation has mobilized about 2,400 employees and many vehicles from on-site units and support from other units, focusing on handling incidents and restoring power supply to customers affected by the storm.
