Due to the impact of storm No. 3, many important traffic routes in the western part of Nghe An province were deeply flooded and cut off, and some suspension bridges were washed away.
In particular, National Highway 7A - the main artery connecting the western communes of Nghe An province - has suffered serious landslides in many locations, many sections are deeply submerged in water, making it impossible for rescue forces and road vehicles to access the highland communes.

Faced with the urgent situation, implementing the direction of the Ministry of National Defense , on the morning of July 24, two helicopters belonging to the Northern Helicopter Company and Regiment 916 took off from Vinh airport, carrying out the mission of emergency relief flights for people isolated by floods.

Accordingly, the flights carry dozens of tons of essential goods such as: food, clean water, medicine, life jackets, etc. Helicopters will fly to the most heavily isolated areas to promptly drop supplies and support to the people. Helicopters will drop goods at points in the communes of Muong Xen, Muong Tip, Nhon Mai, My Ly, Bac Ly.

Present at Vinh airport to directly direct the relief work, Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh, Commander of Military Region 4, requested relevant units to proactively coordinate closely, carefully prepare flight plans, choose safe landing points, and ensure goods arrive at the right place and to the right subjects.

Relief work must be carried out quickly, accurately and absolutely safely. The situation is still complicated, units must maintain high combat readiness, closely monitor rain and floods, and proactively mobilize mobile forces and rescue vehicles when ordered.

The Commander of Military Region 4 also requested that logistics and medical units prepare spare packages, medicine, dry food, and drinking water to reinforce the following flights, ensuring uninterrupted supply.

Relief flights will continue to be maintained depending on the weather and flood situation, and absolutely no one will be left behind.
