Thach That district opens exhibition to introduce craft village products, OCOP and ornamental plants

Reporting on the results after 15 years of implementing the National Assembly's Resolution on adjusting the administrative boundaries of Hanoi city in Thach That district, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thach That district Nguyen Manh Hong said that, located 25km west of the center of the capital, Thach That has many advantages and potentials for economic development, such as: Thang Long Avenue, National Highway 21A, 32, Provincial Road 419, 420... In the district, there is Hanoi National University, especially the planning of Hoa Lac satellite urban area with an area of 17,074 hectares, which is a great opportunity for Thach That to develop in the future.

Currently, Thach That district has 50/59 villages with crafts, of which 10 craft villages are recognized as traditional craft villages. Thach That is also an ancient land with strong cultural characteristics of the Doai region, with 101 relics ranked by the State, of which Tay Phuong pagoda is ranked as a special national relic. Thach That is also the hometown of Trang Bung - Phung Khac Khoan, physician Nguyen Tu Sieu...

The district was honored to welcome Uncle Ho as the place to live and work for 19 days and nights on the way from Hanoi to the Viet Bac resistance base (from January 13 to February 2, 1947). In the revolutionary struggle to protect the Fatherland, the people of Thach That fought bravely for the independence and freedom of the nation, establishing glorious feats of arms, history still records the names of places and people, such as: Ha Bang uprising, heroic Nua Mountain, Cam Bao - the grave of the French invaders.

Through the periods of fighting against foreign invaders and building the country, Thach That district was honored to have 11 communes awarded noble titles by the State; 3 individuals were awarded the title of Hero of the Armed Forces, 1 individual was awarded the title of Hero of Labor.

After 15 years of implementing the National Assembly's Resolution on adjusting the administrative boundaries of Hanoi city, there have been many changes in Thach That district. Before the merger, the whole district had an area of 13,183 hectares with 20 administrative units; population of 164,886 people; average income per capita reached 11.6 million VND/person/year. Implementing the National Assembly's Resolution, Thach That district has 3 more communes: Tien Xuan, Yen Trung, Yen Binh transferred from Luong Son district ( Hoa Binh province). Up to now, the district has a total natural land area of 18,459 hectares with 23 commune-level administrative units; the district party committee has 74 grassroots party organizations with 9,165 party members.

Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, Thach That district has achieved many results. In 2013, Dai Dong commune was the first commune in the district to be recognized as meeting new rural standards. By 2018, 100% of the district's communes had met new rural standards and in 2020, Thach That district was honored to be recognized by the Prime Minister as a district meeting new rural standards.

Not stopping at the achieved results, the district continues to build advanced and exemplary new rural areas. By the end of 2022, Thach That will have 1 advanced new rural commune and 1 exemplary new rural commune. Average income per capita reaches 91 million VND/person/year - one of the localities with the highest average income per capita among the districts in the city.

Thach That district strives to have an estimated total production value of more than VND 35,913 billion by the end of 2023, with an average growth rate of 12.5% per year; average income per capita in 2023 reaching VND 100 million; having two more communes meeting advanced new rural standards and two more communes meeting model new rural standards.

In the atmosphere of commemorating the 75th anniversary of Uncle Ho's call for patriotic emulation; especially the 15th anniversary of the adjustment of administrative boundaries of Hanoi city and the 78th anniversary of the founding of the district Party Committee, Thach That district opened an exhibition introducing products of craft villages, handicrafts, OCOP products, and ornamental plants in 2023. The exhibition has the participation of more than 200 booths, thousands of products of craft villages, handicrafts, industrial products, household appliances, more than 2,000 unique ornamental plants from districts, towns and cities in the city and the whole country. The event took place in 10 days, with all funding coming from socialized sources.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Thach That District Nguyen Manh Hong added that the exhibition will create a chain of links between 4 parties: Manufacturers - managers - scientists and distributors, product consumers. The exhibition also meets the shopping needs of the people, promotes the socio-economic development of the locality; at the same time, it also creates interesting experiences for people to visit, exchange and shop at the exhibition.
