- Aluminum frame
The Information reveals: Apple may surprise big with the iPhone 17 models launched in September next year by abandoning the use of titanium frames after only two generations and replacing them with aluminum frames. It is known that aluminum material makes the device light but still ensures durability.
At the same time, the back instead of using all glass is a combination of aluminum and glass; the rear camera cluster is rectangular and larger than the current model. The raised part is made of aluminum and the bottom part is glass to support wireless charging.
- Rectangular camera cluster
Accordingly, the square camera cluster on the iPhone 17 Pro is expanded into a rectangle similar to Google's Pixel 9 Pro. The three lenses still maintain the triangular layout and are on the left. The LED flash, microphone and Lidar sensor are arranged vertically on the right.
- Vapor chamber cooling system
Some sources revealed that Apple will add vapor chamber cooling technology, with the same operating mechanism as many current Android phone models to improve performance for the iPhone 17 Pro line.
- 12GB RAM
The iPhone 17 Pro has increased RAM to 12GB (the previous model had 8GB RAM) to improve Apple Intelligence performance as well as increase multitasking capabilities. The device also uses the A19 Pro chip with higher performance, manufactured on TSMC's third-generation 3nm process.
- Larger battery
The thickness of the iPhone 17 Pro Max is said to be 8.72 mm (up from 8.25 mm of the 16 Pro Max). According to some sources, this adjustment adds 400 mAh to the battery capacity of the product.
- Camera resolution increase
The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will have a 48MP telephoto lens. The zoom will be 3.5x (85mm focal length), instead of the current 5x, helping to take better portraits and everyday photos. The high resolution will support digital cropping without losing much quality.
The front camera of the duo has increased to 24MP - double the previous model. With an upgraded 6-element lens compared to the 12MP camera with 5 elements in previous generations, the iPhone 17 front camera promises to bring sharper and more detailed photos, even when cropping or zooming.
A19 Pro Chip:
This is Apple's latest generation of processors, based on TSMC's third-generation 3nm process.
With the A19 Pro chip, performance is expected to increase slightly and save more power than current models. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 models will use the A19 chip, which can be manufactured on TSMC's N3P (upgraded 3nm) process.
Apple-designed Wifi-7 chip:
All four iPhone models will be equipped with this chip instead of Broadcom's chip as before, helping to connect faster, more stable and consume less energy.
Dual video recording
According to Jon Prosser (YouTube channel Front Page Tech), the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max duo will allow users to record videos simultaneously with both the front and rear cameras in the default Camera app.
8K video recording
With the entire rear camera system reaching 48MP, it is very likely that 8K recording will officially appear on the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. This is a big step forward for the iPhone, competing with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and Pixel 9 Pro models.
Sky Blue color option
Similar to the color on the latest MacBook Air, the iPhone 17 Pro will have an additional luxurious and outstanding Sky Blue version.
Sources close to the supply chain have confirmed that some iPhone 17 Pro prototypes have been produced in various color versions, including Sky Blue, which is considered to be more beautiful than the Sierra Blue color that was popular on the iPhone 13 Pro.
