Opening of the world's most beautiful sunset bridge in Vietnam

The Kissing Bridge was designed by Italian architect Marco Casamonti, inspired by Michelangelo's painting The Creation of Adam and the O Thuc Bridge in the Vietnamese legend of Ong Ngau and Ba Ngau.

On the afternoon of December 22, the Kissing Bridge - a project that tourists have been waiting for, was officially inaugurated at Sunset Town, Phu Quoc.

The Kissing Bridge consists of two branches, the north and south, with a total length of 800m, forming a unified whole but not touching, but 30cm apart, just right for a hug, a handshake or a kiss. This distance is meticulously calculated so that on January 1st every year, the sunset will fall right between the two bridgeheads, making this place one of the "most beautiful sunset viewing spots in the world". Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Huynh Quang Hung, Chairman of Phu Quoc City People's Committee commented: "With an extremely special design, the Kissing Bridge is a masterpiece in both art and construction techniques, giving Phu Quoc a tourism symbol worthy of the natural beauty bestowed on the island. We hope that the Kissing Bridge will bring Phu Quoc to the world and become a reason for tourists to long to come to the Pearl Island, to admire this unique architectural work with their own eyes, just like the miracles that the Golden Bridge has done for Vietnam tourism". The Kissing Bridge has a conson span (a horizontal bridge structure, fixed at one end, free at the other) of up to 25m, on a 65-degree inclined pillar. The total weight of the conson structure on each side is up to 400 tons, equivalent to compressing 40 buses and hanging precariously in the middle of the sea by 2 inclined pillars. With this inclined pillar structure, the Kissing Bridge has created an unprecedented precedent for a pedestrian bridge on the sea, bringing Phu Quoc and Vietnam tourism a unique symbol. The bridge's nose uses super clear glass, with a transparency of up to 96% compared to the usual 70%, creating a feeling of "invisibility" for the glass layer. The LED Dynamics lighting system allows the light on the bridge to bounce softly and freely like flames. In the afternoon, the rays of light seem to emanate from the wings of fairies, beautiful like in a fairy tale. Launched right at the end of the year festival season, Cau Hon is the perfect piece in the complex of works on Hoang Hon Bay created by Sun Group , including the multimedia technology show stage system "Kiss of the Sea", with a total investment of more than 3,400 billion VND.

Every January 1st, the sunset will fall right between the two bridge heads, making this place one of the "most beautiful sunset viewing spots in the world ".

The bridge, along with the Vui Phet Beach Night Market (VUI-Fest Bazaar), La Festa Phu Quoc Hotel - Curio Collection by Hilton, the "Kiss of the Sea" show with a 7-minute fireworks display every night, just launched by Sun Group on December 21, promises to turn Phu Quoc into a vibrant four-season destination, the only island in the world with a multi-function show combined with fireworks.
