Inspect and guide the work of preventing and controlling African swine fever, and vaccinating in Muong Bang commune.

Based on the report of the Commune People's Committee on epidemic prevention and control work as well as existing difficulties related to epidemic prevention and control work as well as difficulties in having commune veterinary staff to directly perform epidemic prevention tasks at the facility, on September 12, 2025, the Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries of Son La province coordinated with the working group of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine Region I, the Central Center for Veterinary Diagnosis and Testing 1 (Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine) to inspect, direct and guide the work of epidemic prevention and control and vaccination against animal diseases in Muong Bang commune.

The working delegation of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine Region I, the Central Center for Veterinary Diagnosis and Testing 1, the Department of Animal Husbandry, Animals and Fisheries worked with the People's Committee of Muong Bang commune on the prevention of African swine fever.

The working group guides and educates people about African Swine Fever vaccination suitable for the strains of the virus that cause the disease.

The delegation inspected the actual situation at livestock households that had been vaccinated against ASF in the commune and directed and guided a number of contents related to the prevention and control of ASF in the locality such as setting up temporary checkpoints to control the transportation of animals and animal products, controlling slaughter, quarantine transportation in the commune... and propagandized and guided about the genotypes causing ASF circulating in the province and guided the effective use of vaccines, suitable for the strains causing the disease.

The working group also requested the Agricultural Technical Station of Region V to strengthen coordination with the specialized departments of the People's Committees of the communes to monitor the epidemic, detect it early, and handle it promptly to prevent it from spreading widely. At the same time, it is necessary to step up propaganda work, instruct people on how to raise livestock in the direction of biosafety and proactively prevent diseases for livestock.
