The eighth session of the Provincial People's Council reviewed reports presented at the session.

Overview of the meeting

Attending the meeting were comrade Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of the Fatherland Front Committee and provincial departments; leaders of districts, cities and standing members of People's Councils of communes, wards and towns.

The meeting heard the Provincial People's Committee's Report on the results of handling voters' petitions before and after the 7th session of the 19th Provincial People's Council; the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee's Report on the results of supervising the handling and response to voters' petitions before and after the 7th session of the 19th Provincial People's Council.

Accordingly, before and after the seventh session of the 19th Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Council delegates met with voters at 52 locations in the centers of communes, wards, towns, villages and residential groups. 85/85 petitions of voters sent by the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee were directed by the Provincial People's Committee to be considered, resolved and responded to by agencies and units, of which: 21/85 petitions have been resolved; 27/85 petitions are being considered for resolution or have a roadmap for resolution; 37/85 petitions were received and responded to by the Provincial People's Committee but due to resource difficulties or the need for central mechanisms and policies, they have not been implemented.

Delegates also discussed and clarified a number of shortcomings and limitations in handling voters' opinions and recommendations, especially the slow handling of some voters' recommendations, and the results of the handling did not meet voters' wishes.

The meeting also reviewed the report of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council on the results of implementing resolutions, conclusions, and supervision recommendations of the Provincial People's Council, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and the Committees of the Provincial People's Council from the sixth to the seventh session of the 19th Provincial People's Council. The delegates highly appreciated the efforts of the Provincial People's Committee, directing relevant departments, branches and district-level People's Committees to seriously accept a number of supervision recommendations. There were no cases where agencies, organizations and individuals under supervision did not implement the supervision conclusions and recommendations.

Through the implementation of the conclusions and recommendations of the supervision, limitations and difficulties in the implementation of socio -economic development tasks and ensuring national defense and security in the province have been promptly overcome and resolved, contributing positively to the direction, administration and implementation of tasks of the provincial authorities at all levels.

However, the delegates also assessed that the implementation of the conclusions and recommendations of the supervision of the Provincial People's Council, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, and the Committees of the Provincial People's Council still had contents and results that did not meet the requirements, especially the recommendations that were proposed by the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council from the previous session but the progress was still slow, and it was necessary to continue to pay attention and direct urgent implementation.

The meeting also reviewed the Report on the results of thematic supervision of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council on the progress of implementing the industrial development plan of Tuyen Quang province for the period 2021 - 2025; Report on the results of thematic supervision of the Legal Committee of the Provincial People's Council on the work of recruiting, managing and using civil servants in public service units of the education and training sector in the province.

Tomorrow, 3-7 sessions will be held in the hall to discuss the results of the implementation of socio-economic development tasks and national defense and security in the first 6 months of the year; directions, tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of 2024.
