Celebrating 15 years of Lang Co being recognized as a beautiful bay in the world

On the evening of May 11, in Lang Co town, the People's Committee of Phu Loc district (Thua Thien Hue province) solemnly organized a special art program to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Lang Co Bay being recognized as a beautiful bay in the world .

Attending the art program was Mr. Kang Byung-suk, Vice President of the World's Most Beautiful Bays Association, in charge of the Asia region. On the provincial leadership side, the program had the presence of Comrade Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee, representatives of the People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; leaders and former leaders of the province through the periods.

Provincial leaders and former leaders of all periods attended the art program celebrating 15 years of Lang Co Bay being recognized as a beautiful world bay.

Lang Co Bay is one of the beautiful natural landscapes of Vietnam, located between the two big cities of Hue and Da Nang, on the central heritage road "Phong Nha-Ke Bang-Hue Ancient Capital-Hoi An Ancient Town-My Son Sanctuary" and the East-West economic corridor is on the way of integration and development.

In May 2009, at the 5th Summit of the Worldbays Club held in Setubal (Portugal), Lang Co Bay was elected as the 30th member of the Club.

Speaking at the program, comrade Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, emphasized that after 15 years of Lang Co being recognized as a beautiful bay in the world, with the effective support of central and provincial departments, ministries, branches, and the efforts of Phu Loc district, this land has had remarkable developments.

With its brand, Lang Co has attracted a large number of tourists to visit and relax, contributing to the development of tourism in the province. In addition, along with Chan May area, Lang Co has become a favorite destination for domestic and international investors in tourism services, many large-scale projects have been and are being built. In particular, it has done a good job in protecting the environment and building beautiful natural landscapes.

According to comrade Nguyen Thanh Binh, currently, Thua Thien Hue province is focusing on investing in strong infrastructure development, on the basis of continuing to protect and preserve the natural values, beautiful landscapes and marine environment of Lang Co, combined with investment in development, promoting the value of beautiful Lang Co bay in an effective and sustainable manner.

With the determination to develop Lang Co strongly, commensurate with its potential and outstanding strengths, in the coming time, Thua Thien Hue province will do well in planning and deploying solutions to complete technical infrastructure; continue to promote propaganda and promotion, emphasizing the core role of Lang Co Bay in promoting local socio-economic development.

“Continue to fulfill the commitments of the World Beautiful Bays Club Association with criteria in environmental protection, ensuring green and sustainable development in Lang Co Bay area. Focus on solutions to create marine tourism products associated with lagoon tourism on the basis of promoting the international brand, potential strengths of Lang Co Bay, creating motivation to call for investment and develop tourism services in the coming time”, Mr. Binh emphasized.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Kang Byung-suk, Vice President of the World's Most Beautiful Bays Association, in charge of the Asia region, said that, established in 1997, the World's Most Beautiful Bays Club operates to preserve and develop the biodiversity of bays and contribute to promoting sustainable economic development. Today, the Association's international network brings together about 43 bays from 21 countries on different continents. Many other bays are striving to meet the strict criteria to be admitted as official members.

The special art program celebrating 15 years of Lang Co Bay being recognized as a beautiful bay in the world took place on the stage next to Lap An lagoon and the new Nguyen Van street in the beautiful and splendid Lang Co town at night.

The program was elaborately staged, including 3 chapters with many special performances on a modern stage, with the participation of many famous singers such as: Trong Tan, Lan Anh, To My, Quoc Dai, Xuan Dinh KY...

According to the Thua Thien Hue Urban Master Plan to 2045, with a vision to 2065, recently approved by the Prime Minister, Lang Co is oriented to develop in long-term association with the deep-water port, Chan May international industrial and commercial zone, Chan May urban area in the roadmap to build Thua Thien Hue into a centrally-run city, ensuring sustainable and comprehensive development of the functions of rest, living and working of a large urban area.

According to the People's Committee of Phu Loc district, in 2009, Lang Co attracted 26,900 visitors, and by 2023, the number increased to 248,000 visitors; tourism revenue increased from 54.6 billion VND (2009) to 266.1 billion VND (2023).

Taking place from May 10 to 12, the program celebrates "Lang Co - World Beautiful Bay - 15 years of Construction and Development" with many exciting and attractive activities, imbued with regional cultural identity to tourists and friends at home and abroad. Highlights include the opening of the Nguyen Van walking street, Ao Dai performance, floating lanterns, SUP rowing, Cau Ngu festival, Bai Choi, jogging, fair, women's football, cuisine, camping, boat racing...
