On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the first television program broadcast (September 7, 1970 - September 7, 2025), Vietnam Television (VTV) has produced many films, documentaries and the program "VTV Memories" to look back on that journey with the audience. There are programs that have truly become beautiful memories, associated with an unforgettable time for many generations of television viewers.

In the documentary “A journey of service - One VTV” recently aired, the audience learned more about VTV’s journey, from a small house at 58 Quan Su Street, Hanoi , after 55 years it has continuously developed and expanded. Pioneering journalists and the audience recalled “those nostalgic early days” such as projecting films on the wall, using electronic cameras to capture signals for broadcasting…

But perhaps, what attracts viewers is the series of reports “VTV Memories”, telling about the journey of VTV-branded programs that have been deeply ingrained in the memories of many people. For example, the program “Sunday Literature and Arts”, after 15 years on air, the program has become the spiritual food of millions of viewers. I still remember the sub-sections such as the series Relaxation, Cultural Colors, Movie Quiz… and especially the Sunday Literature and Arts series with famous Vietnamese films of that time such as “My Mother-in-law”, “The Season of Falling Leaves”… People’s Artist Minh Vuong, who has been associated with “Sunday Literature and Arts” for many years, shared his deep feelings for the program: “At that time, the audience loved it so much that when I went out, people called me Mrs. Co elastic (a character in the series Relaxation)”.

Or with “MTV Magazine”, which can be considered the earliest music television magazine in our country, aired in the late 1990s on VTV. Journalist Diem Quynh was the one who was attached to and left many marks on the program, helping young Vietnamese audiences at that time to access international music.

“Sunday at home” is also a TV show that attracted millions of families to watch for 9 years, from 1998 to 2007. At that time, every time it was recorded, thousands of families registered to participate. Many people even prepared notebooks when watching the show to write down necessary tips. Funny, close and emotional, at a time when information technology was not yet developed, “Sunday at home” captured the attention of the audience. And there was “Weekend Meeting”, which gathered comedy skits from 3 regions of the country, helping the audience have moments of relaxation and laughter. Following “Weekend Meeting” was “Year-End Meeting” with the classic Jade Emperor meeting of the Kitchen Gods, which is still maintained every New Year’s Eve.

VTV is also a pioneer in TV game shows. We still remember the “VTV brands” such as “Cultural Journey”, “SV96”, “Music Lovers Club”, “Magic Hat”, “Golden Bell”, “Who is a Millionaire”… Or music-oriented competitions such as “Do Re Mi”, “Sao Mai”, “Sao Mai Rendezvous”… In particular, many programs and competitions are still maintained to this day, attracting audiences, of which “Road to Olympia” is a typical example.

VTV’s 55-year journey of serving audiences nationwide is a journey that leaves beautiful memories in everyone’s heart. Remember the characters, remember the programs filled with “VTV memories”.
