On her personal page, Lan Phuong posted a rather long article about her unpleasant experience of being pregnant for the second time at the age of 40. The actress said that she was pregnant in the first weeks of filming. Due to morning sickness, she had to try very hard to complete the final scenes in an unstable health condition.
"This second pregnancy, Phuong had very severe morning sickness, much worse than when she was pregnant with Lina. When she first found out she was pregnant, Phuong did not tell the crew, just tried to endure the morning sickness. Her body was very tired and aching, and her work schedule was so tight that her body always had to brace itself to support her, and her neck and shoulder pain got worse every day.
Because she was so tired, Phuong rarely talked to the crew during that time. After finishing a scene, she sat still, barely moving, or just lay still on a chair to have the energy to continue acting. There were hot summer days when the room had to be closed to film, with more than 40 people gathered in there. The smell of food, heat, unclean cleaning, and sweat mixed together, was really haunting to a woman's sense of smell during pregnancy.
Then Phuong started to feel nauseous and vomit. After 6 weeks, Phuong told the director and production team so that everyone could understand and sympathize with Phuong's quiet, tired and strange state," she shared.
Lan Phuong is 4 months pregnant.
After finishing filming for the movie, the actress's morning sickness was still very serious:
"The film ends when Phuong is 2 months pregnant. No longer having to struggle every day, all the fatigue, nausea, and pain come rushing out. Every day is the same, opening my eyes I immediately feel the fatigue and nausea coming on.
Sitting up makes me nauseous and dizzy, so I just lie flat on the bed or sofa all day. Sometimes when I have to film a show, I have to try really hard to sit up straight for the entire show. The smell of coffee, the smell of clothes... all make me nauseous."
Lan Phuong said she didn't even dare to come into contact or be close to her husband and daughter because her morning sickness was so severe that she was afraid of the smell of people's clothes: "The most difficult thing was that Phuong couldn't hug Lina and David like normal because every time she got close, the smell of their clothes would immediately make her nauseous."
The actress said she suffered from severe morning sickness.
Although her husband and daughter were very understanding, sympathetic and tried every way to make her feel better, the fact that she was not healthy, could not do anything and could not be close to her husband and children made her even more upset:
"Those days were very stressful. Phuong knew she couldn't manage the restaurant, couldn't hug her husband and children, just lying there from morning to night, couldn't think or do anything useful, so her mood was very gloomy and a bit depressed. Every day when she opened her eyes, she thought: How many more days like this are ahead?", the actress confided.
Lan Phuong was so stressed from morning sickness that she could not be close to her husband and children.
However, Lan Phuong still encourages pregnant women to stay relaxed and accept their current difficult situation: "If you are too tired, you should accept your health condition, so as not to put pressure on yourself when you cannot work as usual, or cannot go out and enjoy life as you wish. Rest as much as possible. Sooner or later, this period of morning sickness will slowly disappear."
Lan Phuong's post received many sympathetic comments from "new mothers". They expressed their sympathy and wished the actress to soon overcome her morning sickness.
Currently, Lan Phuong is 4 months pregnant. Temporarily, she has put aside most of her work related to the entertainment industry to restore her health and prepare for the day of giving birth.
