Leaders of the General Statistics Office supervise the implementation of the Survey to collect information on the socio-economic situation of 53 ethnic minorities in Ninh Binh

In order to improve the quality of statistical information, ensure progress and implement the Program to investigate and collect information on the socio -economic situation of 53 ethnic minorities in 2023, the leaders of the General Statistics Office and the Central working delegation recently inspected and supervised in Ninh Binh.

Implementing the plan to investigate 53 ethnic minorities in 2024, Ninh Binh Statistical Office conducted a sample survey in 34 localities in 8 communes, of which 7 communes of Nho Quan district are in ethnic minority areas (according to Decision No. 861/QD-TTg dated June 4, 2021 of the Prime Minister) and 1 commune of Tam Diep city, although not in ethnic minority areas, has an area selected for investigation. 100% of the investigation areas are in rural areas.

To ensure the investigation work goes smoothly and according to plan, the Statistics Department has selected 14 supervisors, 8 investigation team leaders, 17 household survey surveyors and 2 commune survey surveyors. The list preparation work was completed in 34 areas (equivalent to 4,427 households), of which: 1 area for full investigation is 146 households; 33 sample survey areas are 4,218 households.

Through the fieldwork at the investigation site, participating in interviews to collect information from investigators at households in Tam Diep city and Nho Quan district, the Working Group acknowledged and highly appreciated the coordination between the General Statistics Office and localities, departments, branches and sectors in implementing the survey well, creating favorable conditions for the implementation of the survey. In addition, members of the Central Monitoring Group also pointed out some points to note for investigators during the interview process, limiting confusion for information providers; for commune questionnaires, it is necessary to collect from many different sources.

According to the report as of July 11, the whole province has completed the survey of 151/1,092 households, reaching 13.83% of the plan.
