Thai Nguyen Provincial Labor Federation: Organizing activities to care for the Lunar New Year 2025

To prepare for the 2025 Lunar New Year, trade unions at all levels in Thai Nguyen province plan to support and care for 127,352 union members and workers with a total budget of more than 52 billion VND. The Tet Sum Vay program in Thai Nguyen will be organized by trade unions at all levels from January 10-19.

Spending more than 52 billion VND to take care of Tet

According to Ms. Hoang Thu Hang, Permanent Vice President of Thai Nguyen Provincial Labor Federation, implementing the Plan of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation has issued a Plan on organizing activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025; directing unions at all levels to participate in stabilizing the labor market and labor relations; caring for workers on the occasion of Lunar New Year with "All union members and workers have Tet".

Ms. Hoang Thu Hang added: "On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, trade unions at all levels in the province will deploy support and care for 127,352 union members and workers, of which the provincial level will support 13,900 people; the grassroots and upper levels will support 113,452 people". It is known that the total support budget is over 52 billion VND for 3 levels of provincial trade unions, grassroots trade unions and grassroots trade unions.

In January 2025, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Federation of Labor will organize 7 programs in a series of activities with the theme "Tet Sum Vay - Spring of Thanks to the Party". In particular, "Tet Trade Union Market" will be organized with over 200 essential booths with businesses offering discounts of 10-30% for union members, workers and people; giving away 8,500 free shopping vouchers with a total cost of nearly 1.3 billion VND.

Also according to Ms. Hoang Thu Hang, in the program "Trade Union Tet Market", workers can also participate in activities such as free medical examination and treatment, haircuts, hair washing, motorbike oil changes; singing for workers - listening to workers sing, banh chung wrapping contest, folk dance contest and other folk games.

Not only organizing at the workplace, the Provincial Labor Federation also built a plan to coordinate with the Provincial Steering Committee of "Tet Peak Week for the Poor" to organize Tet care for disadvantaged households in the area. The Labor Union of Industrial Parks and units with a large number of workers will organize 100 trips of buses to take and pick up about 4,000 workers to their hometowns to celebrate Tet with a total amount of over 230 million VND; support train and bus tickets for more than 1,150 people with an amount of over 226 million VND.

Leaving no one behind

Compared to previous years, the 2025 Tet care plan of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Labor Federation is carefully prepared with many activities organized in January 2025.

Specifically, the Provincial Federation of Labor will carry out gift giving to many target groups, such as: Union members, workers in difficult circumstances; Union members, workers in difficult circumstances and workers in difficult circumstances in units and enterprises without a trade union organization.

In case union members and workers are in difficult circumstances, union members and workers have occupational accidents, occupational diseases, natural disasters, storms and floods, lack of or lose their jobs. The Provincial Labor Confederation will give 4,000 gifts (VND 500,000/gift) through bank transfer to the Labor Confederations of districts, cities, industry unions or affiliated grassroots unions, from there transfer to each union member and worker.

The Provincial Federation of Labor requires the Labor Federations of districts and cities (units that have collected union fees from units and enterprises that do not have a union organization) to set aside a portion of the budget to care for and give gifts to these subjects. The level of care shall not exceed 300,000 VND/person in cash. In case the source cannot be balanced, a written request must be sent to the Provincial Federation of Labor for consideration and support.

In this implementation, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Federation of Labor will prioritize organizing programs for union members and workers in especially difficult circumstances, those who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, those affected by natural disasters, storms and floods, those whose working hours have been reduced, those who have lost their jobs; union members and workers from policy families, ethnic minorities, who have not had the opportunity to return home for Tet for many years; union members and workers who stay at their units and enterprises to work, produce, and do business during Tet and union members with outstanding achievements in labor and participation in union activities.

Organizing a farewell ceremony for union members and workers returning home for Tet

At the end of January 2025, the Provincial Federation of Labor will organize farewell ceremonies for union members and workers returning home for Tet at Thai Nguyen industrial parks, Samsung Electronics Vietnam - Thai Nguyen Co., Ltd., TNG Investment & Trading Joint Stock Company and several other units.
