Heavy rain and tornado blew off the roofs of 20 houses in Ba Chuc commune.

On July 23, Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Ba Chuc commune (An Giang province) Pham Minh Hien said that on the morning of the same day, heavy rain and tornadoes swept through the hamlets of Soc Tuc, Trung An and An Thanh, damaging 19 houses, 1 medical station and many other properties.

Of these, 5 houses completely collapsed, with no casualties; the total property damage has not yet been determined.

Local authorities and armed forces support people in cleaning up after natural disasters

Immediately after the incident, Ba Chuc commune authorities mobilized police, militia, border guards; officers and soldiers of Company 3 (Battalion 512, Regiment 892), union members, youth and people to support the repair and temporary cover. In the immediate future, Ba Chuc commune People's Committee has come to give 1 million VND in support to each household whose house was damaged.

Providing support to families of victims to overcome the consequences of tornadoes

Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Ba Chuc Commune Pham Minh Hien said that the locality is directing functional agencies to urgently support affected households, especially those in difficult circumstances, to soon stabilize their lives; have a plan to support funding for house repairs and propose the province to provide emergency support for affected people.
