As planned, the 42nd session of the National Assembly Standing Committee will take place for 2.5 days, from February 5 to 7, 2025, at the Tan Trao meeting room, National Assembly House. National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man will deliver the opening speech and, together with the Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly, will take turns presiding over the content of the session.
At this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and give opinions on the following contents:
1. On law-making work
The National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on: (i) the draft Law on Organization of the Government (amended); (ii) the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the organizational structure of the Government for the term of the 15th National Assembly; (iii) the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the structure of the number of Government members for the term of the 15th National Assembly; (iv) the draft Law on Organization of Local Government (amended); (v) the draft Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents (amended); (vi) the draft Resolution of the National Assembly addressing issues arising in legal provisions related to the arrangement of the apparatus; (vii) the draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Organization of the National Assembly; (viii) the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the organizational structure of specialized agencies of the National Assembly; (ix) the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the number of members of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly (amended)); (x) Draft Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the specific tasks, powers and organizational structure of the National Assembly's specialized agencies; (xi) Draft Ordinance on Management and Protection of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Relic Site.
In addition, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and adopt a number of resolutions to implement the Law on Organization of People's Courts in 2024.
The National Assembly Standing Committee will also give opinions on explaining, accepting and revising the draft Law on Teachers; the draft Law on Chemicals (amended); and consider the draft Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on explaining a number of articles of the 2022 Law on Emulation and Commendation.
2. On supervision work
The National Assembly Standing Committee will consider the National Assembly's Report on People's Aspirations in January 2025.
3. On deciding important issues
The National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and approve: (i) a resolution approving the proposal of the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy on the organization of the Supreme People's Procuracy; (ii) a resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on principles, criteria and norms for allocating public investment capital from the state budget for the 2026-2030 period.
4. At the Session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on personnel work within its authority.
