(GLO)- To encourage and motivate candidates to pass the 2023 high school exam, Youth Union organizations and people in Gia Lai province have implemented many practical and meaningful activities.

Duc Co District has 2 examination sites at Le Hoan High School and Quang Trung Middle School with more than 700 candidates participating in this year's high school graduation exam. Before the exam, Duc Co District Youth Union requested the high school Youth Unions in the district to collect information on candidates living far away, having difficulties, and needing to stay to deploy appropriate support plans. Through the survey, 30 candidates in the communes: Ia Dok, Ia Pnôn, Ia Din, Ia Lang, Ia Nan were arranged by the District Youth Union to stay at Tu Quang Pagoda (Chu Ty town).

13 volunteers and Buddhists of Tu Quang Pagoda cooked vegetarian meals in the morning, noon, and afternoon for the candidates staying there. At the same time, they cooked 50 more meals per session to give to the candidates at the 2 exam sites. After finishing the Literature exam on the morning of June 28, Hoang Thi My Hanh (Dong Tam 1 village, Ia Din commune) and her friends returned to the pagoda to eat and rest. Hanh shared: "My house is far from the exam site, so I registered to stay at the pagoda. After eating, I had time to review my knowledge for the next exam. The volunteers supported us very enthusiastically and thoughtfully."

In addition to cooking, Duc Co District Youth Union also arranged volunteers at 2 exam sites. Banners, slogans, hand sanitizer, drinking water, etc. are fully equipped at the exam sites to serve candidates free of charge when necessary. Mr. Le Trong Phuc - Secretary of the District Youth Union - shared: "Consulting - Supporting exam season" is a program organized by the District Youth Union every year to encourage and support candidates. For candidates who arrive late, volunteers contact their families or come to their homes to pick them up and take them to the exam site on time.

During the exam days, the Krong Pa District Youth Union also established a volunteer team of 53 volunteers to take turns on duty at 2 exam sites: Chu Van An High School and Nguyen Du High School to be ready to support the candidates. Mr. Nay Chuong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Krong Pa District Youth Union - shared: 63 students of Dinh Tien Hoang High School took the exam at Chu Van An High School. We contacted and arranged accommodation for them at the district's Ethnic Boarding Secondary School. Based on socialized resources, the District Youth Union supported 126 breakfasts and 10 bottles of filtered water for the students during the 2 official exam days. The District Youth Union's motorbike taxi team was also ready to support the students in moving from their residence to the exam site. A new feature of this year's exam is that the District Youth Union coordinated with the District Police to issue citizen identification cards and activate electronic identification accounts for parents and students right at the exam support area.

Along with the team of volunteers, many people have also participated in activities to accompany and support candidates and their families. One of the addresses that has participated in supporting the exam season for many years is the 5S Book Station (No. 79A Ton Duc Thang, Pleiku City). For the past 4 years, the Book Station has organized activities to support candidates. Mr. Vu Van Tuyen - Owner of Nui Lu Farm (Hoa Phu Commune, Chu Pah District), founder of the Book Station - said: "In the past, when I took the university entrance exam in Binh Duong or Ho Chi Minh City, I was also enthusiastically supported. Now, I want to do the same for the students".

Mr. Tuyen said that 3 years ago, he completely waived all drinks for candidates and their families. However, this year, due to financial difficulties, the Book Station decided to sell coffee and fruit juice at the same price of 10,000 VND/cup from June 25 to 29 (50% discount/cup or more). During the whole month before the exam, the Book Station also only charged the same price of 10,000 VND/cup for all students who came here to review for the exam.

Sitting at the Book Station to rest while waiting for his daughter Hoang Thi Kim Hoa (class 12A4, Hoang Hoa Tham High School) to finish her second exam, Mr. Hoang Cao Dang (Yar village, Chu Dang Ya commune, Chu Pah district) said: He traveled 17 km to take his daughter to the exam site. He did not order drinks to save money, but the staff still served him free tea.

Smiling happily at the warmth and kindness during the exam season, Mr. Dang said: “My daughter has been an excellent student for 2 consecutive years. This morning, she said she did very well on the test. This afternoon, we will return home and leave early tomorrow. We are very happy because there are many activities to support us during the exam season.”

Living next to the Phan Boi Chau High School exam site, Ms. Tran Thi Ly (No. 38D, Hung Vuong Street, Pleiku City) has set up a free support point with cakes, drinks, school supplies, etc. "I have been doing this for many years now. It's a small job, but I hope to be able to accompany and support the children to do well in the exam after 12 years of hard studying," Ms. Ly confided.
