People in the highlands of Quang Ninh go to vote for village chiefs early in the morning.

In the cold below 10 degrees in the mountainous and highland areas of Quang Ninh , ethnic minorities still prepare their clothes and leave their homes early in the morning to vote for village, hamlet, and neighborhood chiefs for the 2025-2027 term.

Ms. Trieu Thi Thanh and the people of Na Bap village went to vote for the Village Chief on the morning of December 15.

At 6am on December 15, Ms. Trieu Thi Thanh (Dao Thanh Phan ethnic group, Na Bap hamlet, Don Dac commune, Ba Che district) left her house to represent her family to vote for the new hamlet chief. It was a winter morning, the mountain roads were freezing cold, but the number of people on the streets increased. For Ms. Thanh, the morning of December 15 was truly a festival day.

To help people have this spirit, Ba Che district has prepared carefully and comprehensively, completing the steps according to the process and regulations. At the same time, it has promoted propaganda and popularization of the purpose, meaning and importance of the election; created solidarity, unity and spread among all classes of people; prepared well the work of selecting and introducing personnel according to the model of "People trust, Party nominates", ensuring the spirit of democracy, publicity and transparency. People of all ethnic groups expressed their consensus, solidarity and trust.

By 6:30 a.m., the polling station at Na Bap Village Cultural House had people coming to prepare to vote.

The election of village, hamlet and ward chiefs is an important political event, promoting the people's mastery; improving the effectiveness of building and implementing grassroots democracy; at the same time selecting and electing exemplary people with qualities, capacity, prestige and responsibility, representing the community, worthy of being the people's support; contributing to building an increasingly strong political system.

The province has established 1,452 election teams with 8,744 members. The total number of candidates for village chief is 1,521, of which 1,193 are re-elected, and 328 are new candidates. The quality of the candidates for village, hamlet, and neighborhood chief has been improved, of which 349 have university degrees or higher, and 418 have intermediate political theory degrees or higher.

The whole province has 428 voting groups choosing to vote by show of hands (accounting for 29.5%), 1,024 voting groups choosing to vote by secret ballot (accounting for 70.5%). The total number of voters in the whole province listed is 315,297 people.

To ensure the election is successful, election preparations in villages and neighborhoods in the province are being carried out urgently, seriously and closely. Localities have issued implementation plans, promoted propaganda work, arranged resources to repair, upgrade and renovate cultural houses, and decorated the inside and outside of the election area to create an atmosphere...

In particular, based on the expected personnel, the province implements the personnel process for village, hamlet, and neighborhood chiefs in 6 steps, including: Preparing personnel for the new term's Party cell; organizing Party cell activities; conference of the Front Work Committee, consultation with household representatives; reporting to the Party Committee; organizing elections.

The election of village, hamlet and neighborhood chiefs in Quang Ninh will contribute to the successful organization of the Party cell congress for the 2025-2027 term, completing the goal of 100% of Party cell secretaries being also village, hamlet and neighborhood chiefs; continuing to effectively implement the model "People trust - Party nominates".
